We are not ready....
After watching our recent poor performance, it is quiet apparent that we are ready for neither the Asia cup nor the world cup T20 and ODI. I wont be surprised if even the Afghans stun us at home.
Same old mistakes, dolly catch drops, mis-stamping, run outs, poor shots, poor captaincy, wrong selections all saying the same thing that 'We are not ready...' but the time is running out. What can we do - short term and long term? Have your say...

First of all, I need to see the team playing more longer versions of the game developing their techniques.
Secondly, they need a sabbatical from T20 cricket, it's just destroying our players. We need to stand up like captain mushfiqur and rally our team to be more active in longer versions of the game.
I know what most of you are going to say: but the other international teams have test players that are good T20i players. Our players need to be dealt with a lesson that will forever remain in their heads(minds).
A much more subtle way of dealing with this is to go back to the drawing board. Start from the basics, working on areas which need improving.
I beseech Bangladesh cricket team to go in this direction, only then would you fix your problems which are beginning to look grotesque.

Its amazing how in just a couple of months since the NZ draws and ODI whitewash, NZ is being heralded as the best thing since sliced bread and we are afraid of being creamed by Afghanistan at home.
To be fair, never have we had both Shakib and Nasir and Tamim and Riyad out of form at the same time. (Their playing styles means that they always look stupid when they get out, not that it excuses carelessness. Remember how Shak frequently got out playing the lap scoop?!)

New Zealand are on the rise because their players are hungry enough to taste victory; with victory comes glory.
I hope that Afghanistan are going want to have an Asia Cup debut that will want to remember.
Bangladesh ,,, I out of words describing what the should bring to the table.

There is a difference between being out of form and throwing it away. Shakib didn't loook like he was out of form... he looked like he wanted to hit every ball for six even after several lucky escapes

The coach has no control over this team. I'm pretty sure none of our top players hear any harsh words from coaching staff about their screw ups. They are just doing as they please. This is completely unacceptable. The players are responsible for playing like idiots, but I think our coaching staffs are even bigger culprit. These guys need some discipline. You can't just play like that and get away with it.
I want our coaching staff get in Shakib, Tamim, Nasir, Riyad's face. They need to realize this team is not their 'mamar bari'. This is suppose to be Jurgenson's team. He needs to come down hard on them, and be in control. We are not paying him all that money to be a baby sitter.

Wouldn't say we are not ready .C'mon, 3 out of 4 games could have been our's; we were in the driving seat 90% of the times in those games until the very end where we blown it. You don't push the current number 1 ranked world t20 side so close, and in the ODI's, and almost win it if we weren't ready and are still a minnow. It was our own fault our batsmen's blown it away in the ends of the very winnable matches with such weak batting mentality after doing well some stages; and it wasn't like the opponent completely outplayed us in all three departments of the game. Had we won them games no one would have said we are not ready.
We have come quite a long way at ODI's I believe this team is capable of many good things, InshAllah. But first things first: we need keep level headed; work hard, practice hard, have a good team spirit and bond, need to learn to play accordingly much better. InshAllah, many good things will come.
The Talent is there we just need to address and overcome some mental issues of the game our players have sometimes very bad....

Man who's idea is it to play T20 first before ODI I think that's bad move.

Who said we are not ready?
These are just practice matches...to be prepared for the Asia Cup!

Practice match led to practice match - hopefully you are right. Never heard of taking a bilat as a practice match before.

You'll be okay in the Asia Cup I think. You're better at the 50-over stuff than in the T20s, and these are your home grounds all said and done.

But the last two losses were in 50-over stuff.

Think about it this way, without Shakib, Tamim, new players in the team will be playing under pressure which should force them to play at their best. Anamul, Shamsur, and Mominul should play well enough to get us the win needed against India. And I doubt that a team like Afghanistan can take on our experienced players, that is, if we play with intelligence and patience, without the need to become aggressive.
