Narayon is way better in T20s than Sakib but has a lot to do in ODIs and Tests to outscore Sakib.

Just like Mendis also disappeared from SL's ODI and Test squad. They are very good bowlers but their success gets limited in longer versions because batsmen have the luxury to read them and play defensively. In T20, there is not enough time for that.

ok je jai boluk I think it was a wrong decision to leave out Lee and pick Shakib.. Also surprised to see his bowling changes today.. Left Narine for the end, really??? How come he didn't use Kallis in the middle overs when he was soo economical.. didn't get the reasoning behind using Shakib and Balaji when they were being hit.. So it's Gambhir who should be blamed for today's loss, not to mention his zero contribution with the bat..

Not a spinner's pitch at all. Absolute madness to drop Lee. Gambhir seems to have lost it. Shakib should come back and prepare for the Test series. This is a meaningless tournament and he'll end up spending most of it on the bench after today.

Gombhir to blame no doubt.
it was a silly decision..Gavaskar said.its to strngthen their batting but still he is no. Watson or even a decent engh t20 batsman.

Yeah, let's close this thread. KKR won't make it to next round. Even if they do, they won't take Shakib.

So long clt20

Guys give some credit to Mahmood. This guy is in awesome form. A perfect example how even an oldie can become better cricketer playing in England. A SC standard player now becomes a good bouncy track specialist batter.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this but when Andre Adams was bowling, he was clocking 79-82 mph of a two pace run up - the same pace that Balaji was bowling off a full run up and the pace our Mash bowls at.

Not to mention he's probably in his late thirties by now.

Shakib has become too predictable with his bowling.

His bowling has really taken a dip. No turn, no flight, no variation.

While Shakib's batting has improved a lot, his bowling is really a worry

He was bowling it too flat yesterday without any flight or variation and this is surely the effect of non-stop T20 cricket for him. I'm really worried about the test series against WI, if he continues like that then we'll be doomed for good.

^^ I know and I very much have the faith in him, but when you're relentlessly playing T20s for so long it really takes time to change gears and shift to longer version cricket and that's what I'm worried about with WI series knocking on the door.

Shakib normally has 2 trademark deliveries
1) The one which he bowls from wide with an angle and gets it to turn. Batsman expects the ball to keep travelling at the angle, but the turn catches him in front getting him bowled, stumped, or even caught behind
2) Arm ball, where the batsman is trapped in front.

Generally he uses these two deliveries to pick up his wickets. But i cant remember the last time he bowled these.

Its a real concern. Could it be his injury? Could it T20 spoiling his game? Or could be the absence of Salahuddin (Who was instrumental in the success of our spinners)?

^ I saw him bowl a few arm balls yesterday but I definitely think he bowls flat and fast into batsmen's pads too much.
