I dunno how technical you wanted to get... but you can get an aerodynamic study in the paper

A.T. Sayers. "On the reverse swing of a cricket ball - modelling and measurements," Proceedings of the I MECH E Part C, Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, Volume 215, Number 1, pp. 45-55(11), 2001.
