Selectors will cover up their blunders by selecting Anamul in ODI when they should have selected him in test instead of worldclass Nazimuddin...so a debut to happen wish you all the best Anamul

It seems like our selectors are going to play him as an opener with Jahurul coming at #3, I'd prefer the other way around as #3 is Anamul's preferred spot. I guess the one advantage of playing Anamul as an opener is that in future we could have Mominul come in at #3.

Its about time, can't wait and even if he doesn't do well so what? his first experience and he will learn from it. I know he played in the unofficial tri-series back in June and performed bad with the bat but he came back stronger in the Under-19 World Cup so same here incase he doesn't perform. If he's not selected for some silly reason then its obvious Mushfiqur Rahim the Bangladesh captain is afraid of losing his place permanently. Besides, Bangladesh are seriously lacking a full-time partner for Tamim and a number 3.

He'll debut for certain, the only ambiguity is about the position. He wants to bat at number 3 and that may be the ideal position for him anyway.

Yep. It maybe 2. Anamul 3. Naeem or 2. Naeem 3. Anamul..
But I won't be surprised, if Jahurul somehow gets into the XI.

I havent seen him play but due to all the hype over here was expecting him to be someone exceptional. However, have to say judging by his performances from these practice games and the unofficial T20s in Zimbawe, it seems to me that he simply isn't the answer as a number 3 or an opener, at least not quite yet. He seems to be someone like Ash gets confused when to shift gears and adapt to game situations. Although for our sakes I hope I am mistaken.

He has obviously had psychosomatic issues with opening the bat. So why not play him at number 3 and see what happens? It's not like we have an immovable number 3 batsman or something! Get some other patsy to open FGS!!!

He is an average limited-overs player at best . Don't expect him to make the same impact as a Shakib, Tamim or Nasir but I'd still give him a go over the guys we have been recycling for the last few years. He should definitely be in the Test XI from now on.

^ lol at first when he failed in the T20s people here were saying he isn't good in the T20s, better pick him for ODIs and now that he has failed even in this format, we have to assume he is better at tests? And if he fails there? I guess ICC has to invent a whole new format just for Anamul Haque from Bangladesh?
The same goes for this myth about his batting position. At first he will make a good opener, now he is a better player at 3, what's next? 3.5?
Nachte na Janley uthan Baka bucchen bhai?
You seem to forget tests are the ultimate test of skill and a player who sucks in the shorter versions are more than likely to suck even more in tests.

I disagree! he's a number 3 batsman and when he played in that 'unofficial' tri-series, he was playing at number 2 same with these warm-up matches. Might as well play him at his favourite position which is 3.

He batted in his favoured number 3 position in the tri-series, bro. Failed both times. I find it funny that such a big fuss is being made about his batting position tbh. He's a debutant, he should be ready to bat wherever the team needs him.

I hope you are right but IMHO its just clutching at straws. He seems to have a lot of issues, maybe he isn't mature enough, maybe he is a choker? I just don't know as think this thing about his position is the least of his problems.

I am heppy for Anamul and I think he will be part of our missing link in the team.
However I am kind of getting nervous, I am having a second thought... is he ready or not?
My worry is, if we give him a chance, are we (mainly selectors and fans) patient enough to stick with him enough? Becuase I am afraid he may not be instant hit, it may take him some time to adjust and grow...and we are willing to give him that chance?
If we don;t stick with him enough, that would be a tragedy. It's not that bringing a player early where kill a young player, its that we lose our trust to new player too quickly before giving him enough time to develop one way or another... that's where we kill a player.

Look at Nasir Hossain! we gave him time and he turned out to be great so even if Anamul fails to deliver so be he'll just learn from it.

hoi hoi roi roi kolorob na uthle hoi if incase Anamul doesn't make impact. You can't expect a player everytime to perform straight away esp newcomers. I'm sure with time, he'll lead our batting.

Nasir scored a fifty on debut.
after that he didn't need to look back.
So u can say "We gave him opportunity", this boy became a reliable batsman in no time.

Anamul is more suitable for Test! But the selectors don't get it. They played out of form Nazim and off color SN instead of Anamul and Mominul. But now they will pick Anamul and if he fails that will ruin his career. These selectors have no clue what players are suited for what types of pitches or what formats...
