i heard that he bowls like MALINGA. And he has pretty good, his ave. speed is 85 something.

Yeah heard a lot about this guy, though i wouldn't get too excited. He may be just another Bangladeshi player who'll show great promise in league matches but be a huge bummer in the international arena. Even that seems a little out of reach for him right now as he isn't even in the national league.

it's a shame he's not in the national league, hopefully he'll still be able to play a lot of cricket in the coming months. from what i've seen more BD batsmen seem to fail internationally than BD bowlers (especially recently - which hopefully means the management have started to do something right with their bowling talent and will hopefully continue on the upward) so with rubel being a bowler it gives me slightly more hope that he'll turn out alright. but they need to give him a lot of cricket (learn about different match situations and conditions) and handle him well on the coaching and fitness side of things.

not sure if this article is of any use to anyone (it's from march this year so most have probably seen it already) but it mentions rubel as the 2nd fastest bowler from the pacer hunt (also mentions mohammed salahuddin which i'm guessing is the bowler someone was talking about in another thread as being a potentially world class bowler).

funny how when malinga came on the scene, i noticed some people on banglacricket complaining about his action calling him a chucker etc

Not funny at all actually. Whenever people see something new, theyre bound to be suspicious. Now that the actions been studied and proved to be legitimate, they dont mind it. Ive got to admit that i was one of those people you just mentioned. Plus, any variation from the general standards (that is allowable) is always good news....
