Default Fire Rafiqul Alam Right Now & Sri Lanka Cricket to Lift the ICL on it's players

Quote:
"Now the chances for hosting the home series against New Zealand are 50-50", Rafiqul Alam, the national chief selector said. "It will be a loss to the team but we shall utilise the services of young and talented players and seniors also",
I already got banned once, so I'm not gonna Risk it but Fire Him and Learn from Ranatunga

Quote:

Mumbai, Sept. 18 : While the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has slapped a 10-year-ban on the players who joined Indian cricket League (ICL), Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has done exactly the reverse.

According to Colombo-based sources close to the SLC, the interim committee has decided to revoke bans on those players who joined ICL and will be allowing them to play Club cricket.

As per the ICC guide lines, the ban was imposed during the tenure of former SLC Interim Committee chief Jayantha Dharmadasa.

The logic of lifting the ban by Arjuna Ranatunga and company is certain to shock the International Cricket Council and especially the Indian cricket board, with whom present SLC chairman Arjuna Ranatunga is at loggerheads.

"It may be the first step to allow players to represent the country in future", one of the top sources in Sri Lanka pointed out. The decision was taken at the last interim committee meeting. "We received the request from a few players and the decision was taken", one of the interim committee members said on conditions of anonymity.

SLC has more spine than BCB? amazing considering they and the PCB actually take loans out from time to time from the BCCI...

Who takes loan from whom is not a point. Loans are no freebies. they come with a cost, ie interest.

Thanks cricman for digging this story. This is exactly what we were saying.
the bickering of ICL and BCCI has affected lots of countries. Now if Bangladesh wanted to they could have chosen the path of srilanka or NZ or England.

But Alas officials think they owns it all. SL, BD, ENG, NZ, WI and SA and might even pakistan would have voted to allow ICL to be legalised. The fact that ICC failed to take a central policy (there policy of no intervention), clearly showed that ICC was devided on this issue. But with proper diplomacy and six votes this could easily been altered.

The battle between ICL and BCCI was based on EGO.

Ban imposed by BCB is purly for EGO. there is no other reason for such harsh treatment.

Its hard to tell what Rafiqul Alam is.

A Bolod or a Raam Chagol?

Hmmmm.

I think Rafiqul Alam is a Bolod ... and the person who appointed him is a Raam Chagol

Good dig. Good positive action by CSL. ECB has not banned them at all. So gradually support is increasing in favour of ICL

Exactly as I had predicted. The other boards will take a lesson from the situation in Bangladesh and start unbanning their ICL players. Even in countries reluctant to lift bans on ICL-ers, rebels will emerge, taking inspiration from the Dhaka Warriors. International careers will be sacrificed to promote club cricket. Ladies and gentlemen, the revolution is here.

Is this google news so accurate??

I read so many Bangla news today and didn't find anything similar to this. Rafiqul Alam seemed to be very optimistic.

SHei bolse amra kisu player haraisi eta thik... kinu kono great player haraini.. sudhu tader kisu obiggotar ovabh hobe amader.. bla bla..

ar to kisu boleni....

def. not. for the moment BCB should stick with BCCI and push for BD players to enter IPL. it is a much more competitive arena and a better opportunity to interact and learn from some very highly skilled cricketers on their teams...BCB needs to be forceful and get BCCI to allow as many players as they can.

What type of fire do you like cricman?
- Cross fire by the RAB?
- Getting fired in the firing squad by the army?
- Gas fire in the kitchen under his a**?
- Fire fox?

BCB is trying to appease the BCCI and to scare off any other players who will try to join the ICL. I applaud the SLCB for doing this and reinstating these cricketers at least in playing at the club level>
