Your ODI XI against Sri Lanka
IMO, our team management need to break away from the combination Hathuru left us with, to counter his strategies against us. A major change is needed to our top order batting, as well opening bowlers - with players whose weakness may not be too easy for Hathuru to exploit.
Given the number of lefties in the Lanka batting order, I would open with Miraz and Rony (probably the best new ball swing bowler we currently have). Fizz or Mash should be the first change depending on the situation (I would prefer to follow Warner's strategy to bring in Fizz when the ball is softer). I am not expecting a lot from Shakib in this series as a bowler, since he is well known to the Lankans and since majority of their batsmen are lefties. Which makes it important to have Mosaddek as a backup spinner in the team (also since he is one of our best batsman against spin).
From the top order, I would leave out Soumya, Kayes, and LKD - all their weaknesses are well known to Hathuru. Bring in Anam and Shanto instead.
My line up would be-
Tamim
Anam
Shanto
Mushfiq
Shakib
Mosaddek
Sabbir/Riyad
Mash
Miraz
Rony
Fizz
Bench: LKD, Saifuddin, Rubel

I think too much stock is being put on Hathu knowing this or that. SL team might know everything, but will they be able to actually get the job done? In theory if we win 2 of the 3 games against them, we should be able to keep the cup (provided ZIM aren't the other team in the final).
Thats a decent lineup, but has serious downsides as follows:
1) tuk tuk openers...our average PP score will be 30-1 with those two opening. Both batters put a price on their wicket and tend to score big so that offsets some of the damage. But with those openers, 300 is the highest total we can post/chase.
2) lower order impotence. Musa is a top order accumaltor, only Sabbir, shak, and Mushy can accelerate at the death. Mash is basically a slogger, and Miraz lacks the power game. Rony can tonk some but is not a reliable batter.
3) bowling looks pretty strong. Really want to see Rony with the new ball. Can he really swing it?

^^ Anam has been much more aggressive of late, not only in BPL, in the last DPL as well (SR 90+). He scored his double in the last NCL match at SR 80, which also is a good indication. Think he is ready to take up the aggressive opener role.
As for the late order, I don't want to see Saifuddin included in expense of a specialist bowler, not against Lanka.

I actually dont mind seeing Shakib at 3. Its one of our weakest positions, and we havent found any solution till date.
So my team would then be:
Tamim
Kayes/Anamul/Sarkar
Shakib
Mushfiq
Riyad
Shabbir
Mosaddek/Nasir
Miraz
Mash
Rubel
Fizz
Saifuddin in place of one of one of the batsmen exposes the batting a little but, but gives us a lot of options with the ball. Plus a big hitter at the end.
In future though, Miraz at 7 and Saif at 8 gives us a huge edge, but both need to improve their batting.

^^ On Mirpur, I would not worry too much about Lankan pacers, and would give Shanto a try at #3.
I would worry more about the leggie and the chinaman (Sandakan) Hathuru planning to field against us (a la India in LOI). Thus would prefer to keep Shak at the middle order.

Sarkar, still manages to crawl into the potential XIs hopefully this series ends his international career for good, a pathetic ashrafulesque batsmen, that we don't need rather we take, Imrul who is a decent performer against low ranked sides Sarkar will struggle against Zimbabwe and SL.
its time we start choosing players based on merit and performance rather than potential and rapport with the coach/selectors. Hopefully guys like Souyma,Taskin,Sabbir are outsed in the near future, unless they start to perform, heck a bit of consistancy would be nice once in a while.

Problem with having rony, fizz and mash as the only pacers is that they are all similar types of bowlers bowling a similar pace. Also have to work out if saifuddin offers a similar output with the ball then he'd be worth picking instead because of what he offers with the bat.
Happy for shanto to get a chance but for me the real tough selection is who gets picked out of Soumya, Sabbir, Liton, mosaddek. These young batsmen are all talented but none have really secured their spots.
Then you have to think whether it's time to bring anamul back or should the bats I just mentioned be given more of a leash and be given more opportunities.

Sarkar needs a break.
You wanna blood in new players in intl arena, you do it at home against weaker opponents.
Having said that my team would
Tamim -L
Anamul+ -L
Mushfiq
Mominul -L
Riyad
Shakib -L
Shabbir
Mash
Miraz
Fizz -L
Rubel
Bench: Imrul, Mosaddek, Saifuddin

^^ Momin can lose us a match with his fielding alone, he is being that horrible lately. As per Rinat, Momin had been skipping fielding practice during BPL. Halsall should make him practice fielding for a month before he is considered for anything.

Sarkar has immense talent, he's shown his ability in the past, so has taskin, Sabbir is the only one who has disappointed consistently

1. Tamim
2. Anamul(wk)
3. Mosaddek
4. Riyad
5. Shakib
6. Mushfiq
7. Sabbir (he belongs here, keep him here, late order 20+ runs are very very crucial)
8. Mash ( couple of sixes and economical bowling and solid captaincy is all i ask)
9. Miraz
10. Fizz
11. Rubel
12th man: Mohammad Saifuddin(swap him for Miraz if we need one less spinner and extra batsmen during slog overs)

All 3 have huge amountts of talent but time is running out for Sabbir especially as he's been in the team awhile now and his consistency has declined if anything but given he's about 25/26 if he doesn't have as much time as the other two to develop and selectors may think it's worth investing in someone younger who might pay dividends ultimately for a longer period than Sabbir can.

thanks . Mosaddek is wasted at #6 i think. he could do it but it is probably too much of him when his style of batting is to build an anchor an innings unlike Sabbir. I think Mosaddek deserves an extended run on the side(all formats except T20). we could and should probably draft in Ariful Haque for that.

Talent alone won't win you matches.

Naser and Mosaddek - not Riad
Now you have a good attack, batting and fielding unit.

Mosaddek is not a T20 player...but thats OK since t20 isnt even cricket.
Musa should bat at 3 or 4 in both formats. Maybe 5 in Tests since Momin and Muhsy should bat 3 and 4. I dont think we have ever had a batsman enter our team wih FC and list A avergaes of 65+ and 40+, which Musa has I think.

I'm going to be more dynamic.
Tamim
Liton (keeper)
Mushfiqur
Mahmudullah
Shakib
Shabbir
Anamul
Mosaddek
Mashrafe
Taskin
Fizz
Rubel
Hider
Nasir
Imrul
Anamul and Shabbir are gifted, but they seem to do a lot better when the ball is older. Middle order is full of experience and strong. Lower order has so much fire-power. Tamim as opener speaks for itself. Only weak-link is Liton, but I chose him because he can do no worse than Sarker and Imrul. This batting line-up is important because we need a way to rack up huge scores like other teams do. More runs means more chances of securing victory. We need to model India. Our bowling attack is not world class or anything. Mosaddek should be trusted to bowl upto 5 overs. Underrated with the ball.

It doesn't matter what the team is. Just please please please debut some players. Tired of seeing failed washed up deadwood players circling the drain.

Still haven't found an opener to partner Tamim. Doubt we'll find an opener as good as him for a while, too. Back to complete mediocrity at the top of the order once Tamim is retired.
