West Indies in NZ 2008-2009
West Indies started their NZ tour with a dismal bowling performance at Auckland outer oval. The opener McIntosh made a patient 78 (for what he is known for) while no name poor averaged players in International arena RA Jones and GJ Hopkins both in their thirties were rewarded with a double and a century respectively as Auckland declared after pummelling the Carribean bowlers for 156.1 overs making 587 runs while loosing only 7 wickets.
In reply WI made 82/0 while a patient start from both the openers Chattergoon and Marshall made it possible to keep any wickets to fall bringing cheers to the district side.

Good to see Franklin back as a BATTING ALLROUNDER, he is a much better batsmen than Oram will ever.
Note though I dont think it is wise for you to go around calling them no name players, imagine what there averages would be if they played in your joke of a domestic competition

Sorry to hurt your feelings bro. But truth is I checked their averages. Performance wise they are well below average than a lot of the younger players who played for NZ. I stricted my comment on Intl. for that reason.
Calling BD domestic competition a joke is not wise. Although my context was not about domestic league but I think we all agree that BD is somewhere in between. Look at our ICL performance. Also consider that how we managed to win a match against the said semifinalist before the WC began.
How could you forget that if DV was not so resistant it would have been our second test win this year in CTG?
We also earned a precious win against NZ this year.

welcome to your world.
at any rate, even great players "throw their wicket away" 90% of the time. even the greatest bowler doesn't "earn" 3/4s of his wickets.
difference a good batsman will score 40-50+ runs on average before throwing his wicket, and occaisionally score 100+ and rarely 200+
bangladesh batsman will score average of 20+, with the occasional 50, and rare 100.
your boys will score 30 on average, with fair amounts of 50s, and rare 100s.
**********************************
this series should be a good contest though. NZ's poor batting versus WI poorer bowling. NZ's solid bowling against WI solid batting.
who will come out on top???

whatever be the case, the NCL is a joke. when sajidul islam averages 50+ its a joke. when chacha cracks a double ton, it is a joke.

I think Ramadin will make a significant contribution... I am not counting on nash too much, hopefully he will prove me wrong.

Windies are no doubt my second favorite team. I just love that carribean flavor they bring to the game and Chanderpaul has to have the coolest batting technique in Cricket.
