What's holding you back?
I hope I don't offend anyone.
What is holding you back, family, love life, mother land, home country or anything else. Regardless of all these nothing will hold me back. Life is musafir. I just cross point A to B. What do you think fellow humans?

Holding me back from what?
I usually blame marriage/my wife for not being wealthy.... I would have taken 100x the risks in life if i wasn't married and they all would have played out extremely well... and I would be doing very well now.
you get married to a financially irresponsible person and it truly holds you back .... You need to be either single or with someone that has similar mentality...
u get married in your 20s, waste all those money in wedding, then u live apart from parents on ur own and then ur wanting goes up more and more.... next thing u realize u can't keep up.. money vanishes before it hits your bank...whereas 20 years old should be accumulating every single penny they earn, live with family, live on like 300 dollars a month and do aggressive investing....
I could have generated somewhere between 6 to 8x my saved/invested amount over past 7 years.
I sold apple stock at 80 dollars (pre split price) to buy her diamond ring for engagment...because i needed money... everytime i think about it i feel like vomitting..

family,
Still not finished with education, too young to get married and dont have girlfriend atm, will take some time until I finally get a career started to support a family.
love life,
Most of my friends around manyy hometown dont like to go out anywhere where we can meet new people. Theyre allergic to the opposite sex, so I dont get many chances to meet new women.
MotherLand
Bangladesh is not fun anymore, when I was a kid it was nice having fun with extended family, but now they've all moved to either Britain or the US.

Ouch, why were you getting married if you didnt even have a job that could pay for a ring. Couldnt you and her have waited?

I could have.. she couldn't. Now I understand, she didn't want to lose me, it was that fear probably.
I got married without having a job...so i pretty much looked at whatever savings that i had at that time ( any income i ever made..which isn't a lot) and they were all invested in the stock market..
She had job for few years already so she took care of significant costs of the whole process but i still had to do the minimal that I was supposed to...
I am not sure if i will see the opportunity that was presented to me in my lifetime again that was gifted to me in 2008 crash......
When I calculate the opportunity cost and I can pretty much say I have made the biggest mistake of my life that time...
in my opinion expensive wedding, jewelry, rings etc etc these are all are unnecessary waste and do not add to happiness....
think of your life as a business, when u start out your business, you always aim for growth and whatever money u generate u put it back in business until it is matured and becomes a cash cow... your 20s are a startup business.. why would u waste your money on wedding and all the other nonsense in late 20s and start all over again? makes no sense.....
THe above do not apply if you were born into a wealthy family then ur life is a fairy tale....hard part is to find the girl that's not after ur money... us poor ppl don't have at least that problem thankfully.

Insha Allah nothing will hold me back. I'm not married. Allah sends everybody in a couple, in general term. I hope I don't have one. I don't think I can carry someone as my partner. Life is complex enough, don't wanna more. But that doesn't mean, I'm quitting marrying someone. I don't have that ku-bravery.
