Kichu mone koiren-na ... I was moved by T.S. Eliot's "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" ... and wrote something similar. My actual poem is about 4.5 pages long, so I won't dare post it here. Here's a stanza:
There will be time for clichés and proverbs,
And for lazy strolls in the outskirts of affluent suburbs.
But alas, now ‘tis time for the bitter truth.
The chipping away of the vestiges of a futile youth.
Moments spent in fantasies must now be accounted for,
They will be manifest in my life’s worth.
And I must learn to live to learn:
Of my heart and its desires,
Regardless of what the Many admires.
I am not Hamlet,
And my Father’s no king.
Neither am I Siddhartha
Sanctifying the noblest way of living.
I am neither a Prophet nor Aesop,
For I have no prophesies or adages, but only
A half-blank slate etched with life’s
Acquaintances and chances.
At best, a timid philosopher I can be.
I am every Prufrock, and every Prufrock is me.

Great collection. If they are penned in your teens, then you must have been a prodigy.
I love the graphics layout too... you should have designed my webpage. They charged me 2000$ for a simple page.

My wife wrote the following to me. We eventually wrote the music and made a song out of it.
"Thank You For Loving Me"
There was a time in my life
I was alone and walking by
No one to hold but my own hand
Until you found me until you smiled
[Chorus]
Thank you for the moments you spent with me
Thank you for believing what could I be
Thank you for the laughters and the smiles you shared with me
Thank you for loving me, thank you for loving me tonight
In all my life I've swallowed my own tears
In all my walks my lips were tightly sealed
Waiting for love to hold my hand again
Now that you are here I give myself to you
[Repeat Chorus]
[Repeat Chorus]
