Default Pathetic Bowling attack costing us again and again, solutions?

Asia Cup 2014 Most Runs List:
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/asia-c...ype=tournament

Asia Cup 2014 Most Wickets List:
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/asia-c...ype=tournament

As you can see 2 out of the 5 top run scorers are BD batsmen while there is not a SINGLE Bangladeshi bowler in the top 15 of the wicket takers list (2 Afghans in the top 15 btw). That tells us a lot on why we are finishing at the bottom. Where have all the talented bowlers in BD gone? Why cant we find bowling prospects like we find young batsmen like mominul and anamul?

Very good thread. This should be one of top thread that needs attentions, discussions and obviously some action plans. Let's start to break down what is causing this debacle...I start with my 2 cents:

1. Lack of infrastructure to nurture and develop pace bowlers including wickets and proper coaching facilities from the early stage of bowler's development- (BCB action owner)
2. Lack of Planned development of bowlers especially quality pacers under specialized coaching (BCB action owner)
3. Lack of process to identify from the selected bowlers and going through strict process of elimination and also selection process (creating real scenarios not just net bowling) to assess a bowler's quality. Having a robust Pacer/Spinner Quality program that will only focus of quality standards (BCB action owner + Players who want to be in that category)
4. Lack of process to identify appropriate players who also have overall qualities including strategies, tactics etc (BCB + players) (you can bowl fast and or can spin but if you don't use brain what's the point)

very interesting thread, I was planning to open one with a title "No point playing cricket without quality bowlers"
The best our bowlers can do is contain the batsmen, but once they attack our bowlers look useless.
Even the Ind bowling attack looked so good because of AShwin,Shami, JAdeja.
We only have Sakib, it's really annoying, Gazi is out of form at the wrong time, our bowling was never as poor as now,
I believe Rubel & Al-Amin have it what it takes but they need severe coaching, this is where SJ has been disappointing, we need to hire a super coach for pacers & a Saqlain type coach for spinners.

Where is Robiul now? Did Mushfiqur finish him by overworking?

Taskin (in a year or so) and Al-Amin could help. I have given up on Rubel.

Al Amin, rubel, robiul, taskin and nazmul I'd say are the ones we should look at developing at the national team level atm. But a good coach is needed full time, Craig McDermott makes sure the aussie pacers are ready and focused for every match and he's got a massive group of players to look after (Harris, Johnson, siddle, pattinson, starc, Faulkner, coulter-nile, McKay etc). It can be done, up to BCB to get the right coaches.

Give those coaches to Afghanistan, look at how they play without much guidance. What good is a coach going to do if players themselves lack hunger for win?

The realty is with the current management (Rahim, SJ, Faruk), your bowling will be as good as Razzak, Mashrafee, Riyad, Shafiul can provide us. New talent will not get the chance in the national team.

So I suggest, instead of idealistic plan, rather take the jainamaz and pray to All mighty God so that they (RMRS) can all get their form back. That is our only hope. RMRS will either take our team to hell or heaven, there is no alternative under this current management.

Are you saying somewhere out there, exist a group of match winning bowlers, it's just that they aren't given opportunity to play internationally? Same can be said for any country.

Match wining or not, we already have seen other more deserved bowlers were systematically ignored with lame excuses. Didn't we?

What makes you think this captain will not again sabotage a really good prospect to two to save Riyad Bhai and Razzak bhai's rear?
