I don't have any expectations of Shakib given his recent form with the bat and lack of longer version match practice. Whatever he scores - a hundred or a hundred without the zeroes - will be a bonus. So really, it's important that these two hang in there for a long time tomorrow. Hopefully Nasir will do what he does best. Given how dead the pitch is, it looks like the kind of surface that Mushy would score a double on.
650 is definitely on the cards. But no win by inning, because Rubel == Abul ~= Robiul.

I expect a good knock from Ice Man, and he will deliver...

This is a very valid point. Test cricket is all about building up an innings. Get settled, make the bowlers tired then play a big innings. Tamim is just an idiot. Being the most senior and best batsman of the team he is not learning the basic. God knows when other will learn.

like someone said, **** happens. Although some of us knew that **** WILL happen. We knew and so did the selectors about Anamul's feet movement. Someone of us knew that he is not a natural opener. He is still young and has a lot of talent. Selectors are making him a jigsaw puzzle and trying to fit him in the wrong slot. Just because we dont have an opener doesn't mean you put a prospect no.3 to open against a quality seam attack. Naeem would have been a better opener than him at least on pen and paper. Hate to drop him but Anamul shouldnt be batting at no.2 at all.
Tamim, well like i said earlier, he is trying to determine how he wants to approach test cricket. From my observation, his attacking mentality usually gets him more runs. Its just his uncertainty of play it or leave it is causing him problems. I would rather have him score a quickfire 50-60 every match rather than trying to score slow and steady and perform 1 out of 10. He is not an Amla type batsman and he shouldnt try to become one.

No one wants Naeem as an opener at will. But given the current XI, you really have 2 options
1) Have Anamul open the innings and hope that somehow he sees of the seamers to score a decent total.
2) Experiment someone experienced who can occupy the crease longer (in contrast to Tamim) and has some experience in international arena.
Take your pick.

unless our bowlers can cause some kind of a collapse, a win is not possible regardless of whatever runs we score. When a team scores over 400, usually the chances of that team losing is very slim unless its Bangladesh.

I hope and pray a collapse is on in the card early on tomorrow.
I'm mad at Tamim. He knows hows much it's needed for him to stay out there regardless of scoring from every ball, but he chooses to throe his wicket so early on.

400? Pfft please, we lost a Test match after scoring 556 in our first innings.

What kind of food? Hopefully no bhaat-type food. Although Tamim would be eager to be back in the middle in that case.

Our batting is capable of imploding any given second. So for me the first objective is to avoid the follow on and go from there. Our last four batters are good for about 10 runs so the bulk of the scoring has to be done by the specialists. Judging by past trends I don't expect us to go beyond 350.
