I never rated 2007 as a very successful campaign. We almost squandered our 2nd round hopes by losing to SL by 1.2 million runs. It was the exact same situation this time when WI needed to beat ENG[replace WI with SL and ENG with IND]. Also, the way we played in the 2nd round was quite appalling too. Losing to Ireland, losing horribly in every game barring one fluke. All this when there was no real pressure on the team.

This time there was huge pressure on the team, they still did alright and won 3 games[which was the target at the start of the campaign]. The other results did not go our way and as a result we failed to reach QF. And we did all this under tremendous pressure, and the way the team came back against England was truly remarkable. So despite not reaching the QF, I would say 2011 was our best campaign so far.
Note: 2011 did not fulfill expectations of potentials, but it was still better than any other wc.

It has always been a roller coaster ride.

1. '99 - Good
2. '03 - Terrible
3. '07 - Good
4. '11 - Terrible

At least, if the trend goes on, we'll have a good world cup next time.

2007, we hoped.

2011, we expected, and our team delivered at times, and failed miserably. but we are no longer the whipping boys. we are the unpredictable lot. thats sth.

2007 was the best hands down, bd's performance in that WC is the sole reason why I started following Bangladesh cricket and joined BC

58 all out against West indies who is ranked below us and 78 all out against South Africa B team without Steyn and Morkel. I admire your optimism.

Nothing can beat the sweet memories of beating India in their first match and kicking them out of the WC and then beating No.1 team SA (that time) in the 2nd round. Even we had gone to QF in 2011, i would have still voted 2007 WC as the best WC as of today.

The 2007 one was worse than the position tells. But that was slightly better than this time. Also, this year our result is much better than how we actually played. The Irish lost the match by themselves and Shafi's magic won us the England match. We actually played like a 1-5 team, not 3-3.

99 and 2007. 2011 would have been perfect if there were no 58 & 78.
