That PA comment shows whatever the selectors do, they always be criticized. They were criticized when Momin was given chances in shorter version, now they are criticized for not doing so.

Had they included Shadman in the team, I am sure there would be people crying to leave him for longer version only.

Don't get me wrong, our selectors make plenty of blunders. But I don't see selection as the issue for yesterday's failure. Those guys are pretty much the best from DPL bar national players.

There may be some validity to question Mohor's inclusion, but he has not even played yesterday.

U-19, U-23, A team, Academy...the results don't matter. What matters is individual players stepping up, scoring runs or taking wickets and then making the step up to the national team. This is a means to an end, not an end itself.

Glad to see Shorif did well. Would have liked to have seen Shanto, Mosaddek, and Nurul do well also. Still early in the tournament and time for these guys to pull up their socks.

Mosaddek seems to be just becoming a longer version player these days. A few seasons ago he was doing really well in DPL 50 over cricket.

Mosa hammered Herath and Dilruwan in SL in a Test...not an easy feat. It was a sporting enough wicket for BD to take 20 wickets and win the game.

Nurul batted well in Tests in WI and on a sporting pitch in NZ. Plus is regarded as the best WK in the country.

Shanto hasn't done anything at international level as yet.

Nurul and shanto have barely played international cricket, way way way too early to judge.

Mosa has played some ODIs but barely any tests which is the only format he may be currently suited to at the international level (his best format by far).

Shanto seems like a serious waste of resources. This is probably his last chance for a long time.

Thats because half of them are clueless like our selectors. I would think seriously before shadman giving chance in ODI because his game is tailor made for longer version of the game like pujara or azhar ali.

Whereas even in test cricket mominul always have healthy SR. We saw his best period of his career when he was also involved in the plan of shorter format of the game. He loss of form or struggle in test started only when he was completely discarded from the ODI team. So anyone suggesting making him a test specialist is good for him or us, probably still believes the bullshit haturi spread out during his time.

Good thing I didn't see the result of ACC first match before doing the pod this evening. I would be fuming.

I don't care that we lost this game. We give too much emphasis on these type of game. But what bothered me they way we lost the game. Not even one batsman performed against a semi professional side.

I am worried about shanto. He should be bossing these type of games.

Here's the thing though. Mominul is quite behind in the pecking order for an ODI top order or a middle order slot. There are multiple players who need to get injured or sidelined before he can be considered for an ODI opportunity. Until then he has to continue performing in DPL or A team one day series etc and hope the next chance to play in the ODI comes and then impress. Long story short, he has to earn it.

Can't even bowl out Hongkong. Poor bowling, poor batting. Lost 8 wickets and could not reach 300.

Mosaddek scored a ton and took 2 wickets. But, the opponent is not worthy.

So we have to beat PK and hope UAE lose to HK to go through?

Yep. Our NRR is so poor, we will still not get through if Pak, UAE, and us all three end up with 4 points each.

I think I am yet to see a tournament where we topped the list whenever it came down to NRR. Let alone winning a multi nation cup, will I at least see BD once on top in terms of NRR before my death ?

BD batting first today.

I guess Shanto-Zakir will be persisted with in development setups, even if they fail today, since they're still so young. But perhaps this is the last chance for 27 years old Mizan to impress.

Afif is still very young, has plenty of time to improve, same with shanto and zakir.

279-4...still 3 overs to go.

Mosaddek 70 not out off 63...had a very slow start but got going later on. Just shows he needs to get his eye and needs to bat in the top 4-5.

Good stuff from Mosaddek. Let's hope this will not encourage HaBa to put him back into the T20I team.
