Default What we need to do to win this Test!

Our batting once again let us down but our bowlers have brought us back into the match. This is what we need to do to give us a chance to win the match:

1. Early wickets: We need to try to get a wicket or two in the morning to put even more pressure on SA. If we don't, I'm afraid that South Africa will resurrect their innings.
2. NO dropped catches
3. Bowl and field aggressively: You won't beat a team like South Africa by just sitting around.
4. When we bat, make it a priority to stay in the crease and be stubborn. Realize that the opposing teams bowlers will probably do well in the first couple of sessions. Wait until it is later in the day and then you will have 2 hours to get runs. Don't force the issue.

Understand what it means to play test. The A B C of test.

None of our batsmen know that, and if they do not know what they are trying to win, there is no way they will win.

Bowling and fielding aggresively should be the prime objectives for BD. The pitch has nothing to offer except low bounce. We dont know for sure when it will start to talk for spin bowlers. So, bowlers should keep focusing on line and length that does not offer any run.

Early wickets of SA might put BD in trouble. If SA is all out by the 2nd day, will BD be able to bat long enough to have a healthy lead and put SA on pressure? Historically, BD scores more runs in 2nd innings. But scoring run is not the lone factor that will help bd to fight back in the test match. BD needs to kill time so that SA is constrained with time. At the best case, our bowlers might be able to hunt down SA batsmen cheaply in 2nd innings. But lets not indulge ourselves with this thought.

Again, allowing SA to stay on the crease means more run for them unless BD can persistantly keep bowling and fielding at their best . BD can not concede runs. Eventually, time will pass on and the match will be tight.

This whole observation might sound weirdly defensive. Realistically, BD should aim at drawing the test at best. They will have to out perform the 2nd best team in cricket world within 4 days if they want to win it. I really doubt any miracle in test match. We should try something out of the box. We have nothing to loose after all.

However, I would love to see BD bowlers get them all out in first innings quickly. Then BD batsmen score runs prolifically. Next BD bowlers nail the SA batting order. And we win..........sounds like fairytale???
