Once you have that - post the categories and nominees to get a final feedback. Behind the curtain we will the create the polls with the suggested nominees (modifying as per discussions here) and make it available to the public.

After going through some stats here are my nominees For the categories selected

U-19 Cricketer of the Year

1. Noor Hossain------Took 4 wickets for 31 runs in the only youth ODI he played in 2011. Played 3 fast class Matches in NCL and took an amazing tally of 19 wickets with an avg of just 17

2. Mosaddek Hossain------ Played in all the 7 youth ODIs that Bangladesh played in 2011. Scored 277 runs at an avg of 55.40 and with 3 fifties and took 7 wickets at an avg of 28. He played an important part in defeating England Under 19s

3. Al-Amin------ Played in all the 7 youth ODIs that Bangladesh played in 2011. Scored 203 runs at an avg of 33.83 with 2 fifties and took 9 wickets at an avg of 19.44. He played an important part in defeating England Under 19s

4. Asif Ahmed------ Had an amazing NCL, was the top scorer with 744 runs from 9 games at an avg of 46.50 also took 8 wickets at an avg of 26.37. Played 5 youth ODI and scored 170 runs at an avg of 34 and took 7 wickets at an avg of 21.14

5. Anamul Bijoy----- Scored 547 runs 4th highest in the NCL at an avg of 34.18 and took 8 catches, Played 4 youth ODI and scored 61 at an avg of 15.25

Mominul Haque was not in the list since he was over 19 at the start of 2011 and didn’t played a single youth ODI in 2011

Woman Cricketer of the Year

1. Khadiza Tul Kubra ---- Was the MVP in Bangladesh getting the ODI status, took 18 wickets in 7 matches at the Women’s World cup qualifier

2. Shukhtara Rahman ---- Scored 164 runs in 7 matches at the Women’s World cup qualifier

3. Salma Khatun ----- Scored 133 runs and took 14 wickets in 7 matches at the Women’s World cup qualifier

Domestic Bowler of the Year

1.Enamul Haque jnr----- Highest wicket taker in this years NCL, took 53 wickets at an avg of 21.64. Five 5fers and one 10 wicket hall

2. Arafat Sunny----- 2nd highest wicket taker in NCL, took 47 wickets at an avg of 17.89. 4 5wicket halls.

3. Saqlain Sajib---- 3rd highest wicket taker in NCL, took 43 wickets at an avg of 21.18. 1 5wicket hall.

4. Al-Amin Hossain---- had the best SR and avg for a bowler who bowled more then 150 overs on NCL, took 37 wickets at a SR of 28.8 and an avg of 13.28

5. Abdur Razzak---- after being dropped from the National team Abdur razzak took the NCL by storm, taking 15 wickets in his first match. Overall he played 4 matches and took 27 wickets at an avg of 20.12

Domestic Batsman of the Year

1. Asif Ahmed---- highest run scorer of NCL. Scored 744 runs at an avg of 46.50 and with a very impressive SR of 81.22

2. Tushar Imran---- The consistent domestic performer Tushar Imran again was in the top ladder. He was the 2nd highest run scorer of the NCL with 581 runs at an avg of 44.69 and a SR of 56.24

3. Dhiman Ghosh---- 3rd highest Run scorer of NCL with 571 runs at an avg 47.58 of and a SR of 61.66

4. Mithun Ali---- played only 4 matches but scored the most number of 100s with 3, also had the best avg 53.85 of the tournament for a player who faced more then 500 balls

5. Farhad Hossain---- Scored the only double century this year, Scored 441 runs with an avg of 44.27

Domestic Cricketer of the Year

T20 Performance of the Year

Bangladesh played only 2 T20 int in 2011 so I changed the T20 cricketer of the year category to T20 Performance of the Year

1. Shafiul Islam---- gave only 19 runs in 4 overs vs WI which helped to restrict WI for just 132 runs, Got rid of the dangerous Samuels who scored 58 of 42 balls

2. Musfiqur Rahim---- scored 41 of 26 balls to win the t20 match vs WI, Was the MoM of that match

3. Alok kapali----- gave only 12 runs in 3 overs and took 2 important wickets vs Pak

ODI Bowler of the Year

1. Shakib Al Hasan---- Highest wicket taker of 2011, took 25 wickets at an avg of 28.08, eco 4.33 SR 38.8

2. Rubel Hossain---- Took 23 wickets on only 16 matches avg 28.47 eco 5.09 SR 33.5, 2 4wicket halls, highest by a Bangladeshi

3. Shafiul Islam---- Took 23 wickets avg 41.72 eco 5.41 SR 46.2

4. Abdur Razzak---- Took 18 wickets avg 40.70 eco 4.95 SR 49.2

5. Mahmudullah---- Took 12 wickets avg 29.66 eco 4.93 SR 36

3. Tamim iqbal---- Had his ups and downs but still was 3rd in the run scoring list for both test and odi

4. Nasir Hossain---- Made his debut this year and carried on with some strong performance in 2011 making people give him the title the next shakib

Cricket Event of the Year

1. Cricket World cup 2011 opening ceremony in Bangladesh

2. Bowling Windies out for 61

3. Getting bowled out for 58 vs WI in the world cup but bouncing back with a Win vs Eng in the next match

Non-player personality of the year

1. Athar Ali Khan---4 nominees by the members

2. Lotus Kamal

3. Ian Pont ---- 5 nominees by the member

I know you all are hurting. And with possibly no international cricket for many months, you must be wondering what to do. At least, we now give you the BanglaCricket Awards 2011. Perhaps this will help you idle away some time. Remember, the awards are for 2011 which was not the best year for Bangladesh Cricket but please do not let events of this year color your memories of the past year.

All credit goes to Night_wolf, who picked up the slack and singlehandedly organized the rebirth of the awards. Please give a round of applause to him and also note the award design he worked on.

This idea just randomly popped up in my mind, so I had to log back in. What if Shakib al Hasan actually came to BC to receive his awards! (I know it wont happen, but I just imaged myself in that situation. I saw myself acting like bunch of twilight fans or better yet, Justin Bieber fans!

And what if he actually replied to my post!! I would crap my pants!

Cricketer of the year: helped DG win the BPL, got DOHS in the top of the chart in the first stage of BPL and last but not the least DIDNT play for bangladesh in asia cup, allowing us to perform well
