Default England & Pakistan in UAE 2012

England started off the tour in Dire Straits against the ICC Combined XI.

England XI with all there prominent players were 185/8 - Strauss Declared giving a first innings lead to ICC XI at 281/10. Must be a real humbling experience for the three lions.
Way to go ICC XI. Viljoen from Namibia top scored with 98! Cook was the only one to go over 19 in ENG XI with 76. Mohammed Shahzad from AFG scored 51.

The tour will include:

Simon Bhai, Thanks. Let's see how the jonokontho desires. Ami bhabchilam for whole tour. But Vox Populi Vox Dei I personally am more interested in the tests.

But my current thoughts were that already England has struggled against ICC Associate players - which I am glad.

  1. I am hoping that Pakistan will reclaim their honor after the NOTW fiasco.
  2. I hope Boycott will say at the end that England should lose their status.
  3. I hope the ICC associate XI can continue their humiliation of Eng XI.
  4. I am hoping Broad will have a poor show and SHAK will stay #1 (this time I am not hesitant in asking for poor performance for Shak's sake)

Hoping Hafeez and Afridi (in ODI) to have a poor series for Shakib's sake as well ...

Hafeez and Afridi are not in contention for Shak's spot in tests. Broad is. I was mostly thinking about Test #1. Shakib plays more ODIs, so that he can handle with relatively more ease.

I know Hafeez/Afridi r not Shakib's competitor in test that's why I've mentioned ODI (I check the ranking table almost everyday ). I want him to hold onto both of his top positins and I don't want any of his competitor to do well in any of these formats.

Alistair Cook has stated today that the English Batsmen are "rusty" from their long break.Cook has tried to explain away ENG's performance with the associates.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/pakistan...tml?CMP=chrome.
Apparently Cook has not played competitive cricket since October, and other Englishmen have had a longet hiatus.

So what happens when BD players go back to test matches after our long hiatuses? Why does the world not see our side of the story? Why can England only claim this as an excuse?

Actually England will be quite at home with the temperature - except no cloud cover - he he.
The conditions seem comfortable considering it is Dubai.

And thanks or the quote above. I thought it would be nice to show it.

Usually sky sports broadcast everryyything Eng cricket related. I've seen them do WU matches before. IDK anything about this one. ICC should've done something to show their investment and statues of the assos. team players.

I don't remember last time I was this excited about a series.

Expecting a closely fought test series. England are a better side on paper, but the resurgent Pakistan will benefit from the conditions. As always batting remains a concern for Pakistan. Umar Akmal has to play otherwise we'll struggle with the run rate even if we keep wickets intact.

As far as bowling is concerned. For both the side making use of the new ball will absolutely vital in these conditions. So from England Barbie Broad and from Pakistan it'll be Umar Gul who would looking to make inroads earlier in the innings.

And as a poster above has stated it'll be great to see how two of the best off spinners in the game are going to perform.

So as a cricket fan I would love to see good controversy free series, and as a Pakistani i am hoping for the boys to play their hearts out inshallah.
