On 13 occasions only have England made more runs than this in the fourth innings of a Test match and only once, in Melbourne over new year in 1928-29, a timeless match which went to the seventh day, when Herbert Sutcliffe made 135 and England reached 332 for seven, have they done so to win. Historically then, no matter the start, the odds are stacked against them.

i am backing pakistanis, even though i dont like that team or country. the way england is batting in asia, i think tigers can beat them at home. dry decks, lots of spinners.

maybe pakistan is winning by 50 runs.

Who would have thought! 3-0 is on the cards. Unbelievable! Misbah is either an incredible leader or just a captain who keeps on getting lucky!

This Pakistan team is really something, England wont last that long unless their top order plays their life out.

The fat lady won and completed her song.

Pakistan won by 71 runs.

Amazing run by Pakistan. They really should stay with Mohsin and say thank you but no thanks to Dav.

First a hearty congratulations to Pakistan. Excellently done.

Then I would like to add the humor from CI report, it is just funny, and I love that little wicket keeper!

Quote:
Adnan's cacophony of cries often rent the air for inexplicable reasons. As do parrots, Adnan vocalises for many reasons. He may be excitedly greeting the day or summoning his family at sunset. He may be screeching when he is excited or when he is merely trying it on. He may screech when he thinks things have got too quiet or when he thinks it is his duty to scream. He just likes screeching. At one point he burst out coughing as if in sore need of a lozenge and Trott looked at him in deadpan fashion.

Adnan is also incorrigibly optimistic about reviewing umpiring decisions. "Do it, do it, yes, yes, all good," you could sense him saying from first moment to last. Misbah learned not to take his evidence into consideration and looked askance at him. He will not be looking askance tonight - every Pakistan player will share Adnan's excitement.
I love his spirit for his team.

Good to see that Pakistan is becoming a tough team again which they were back in the 80s and 90s. After so many controversies and scandals, this is something every Pakistani should be proud of.

Congrats to Pakistan for such a great series win! After watching this team in the Bangladesh series I knew this team was really good. And look what they did now, they ended up whitewashing the English side. All credit goes to them for having a good discipline. Misbah might not be the most popular guy but he's surely getting the job done and was the captain needed for Pakistan. What's great about them is how complete their team is. They have both Rehman and Ajmal who are both world class. Also they're a left-right combination. Then they have a great pace attack in Gul and Cheema.

I think what's helped also is the fact that they went with all an defensive team. It might not look pretty but they grind other teams in to submission. Then they have youth in Azhar, Akmal, and Shafiq with experience in Hafeez, Taufeeq, Younis, and Misbah. With this team I can see them doing really well for years to come.

How the England Players Rated

ANDREW STRAUSS Skipper dropped catches and has one ton in 30 months. Tried to use feet in Third Test. 4/10 Inns: 6. Runs: 150. Avg: 25

ALASTAIR COOK Fared better than most, but that's not saying much. His 94 was England's top score. 5/10 Inns: 6. Runs: 159. Avg: 26.5

JONATHAN TROTT Footwork was decisive and his hands soft but he failed to make big scores. 5/10 Inns: 6. Runs: 161. Avg: 26.83 Overs: 12. Wkts: 1. Avg: 42

KEVIN PIETERSEN Was betrayed by worries over DRS and struggled with his technical flaw of a crooked bat. 3/10 Inns: 6. Runs: 67. Avg: 11.16

IAN BELL Unable to read Ajmal, was back to his 'Shermanator' character mocked by the Aussies. 3/10 Inns: 6. Runs: 51. Avg: 8.5

EOIN MORGAN One-day ace struggled with fielders near the bat. Looked mentally shot. Test future in doubt. 3/10 Inns: 6. Runs: 82. Avg: 13.66

MATT PRIOR Started with 70no then four failures before bashing 49 yesterday. Kept wicket OK. 5/10 Inns: 6. Runs: 150. Avg: 37.5

STUART BROAD England's best player. Superb with his accurate yet aggressive pace. 7/10 Inns: 6. Runs: 105. Avg: 21 Ovs: 116.4. Wkts: 13. Avg: 20.46

GRAEME SWANN Lack of Pakistan lefties — only two — made him work hard for success. 6/10 Inns: 6. Runs: 105. Avg: 17.5 Ovs: 114.5. Wkts: 13. Avg: 25.7

JAMES ANDERSON Not quite as good as Broad but excellent in conditions that did not help. 6/10 Inns: 6. Runs: 54. Avg: 10.8 Ovs: 107.5. Wkts: 9. Avg: 27.66

MONTY PANESAR Missed First Test but then ended up leading wicket-taker with 14. 7/10 Inns: 4. Runs: 8. Avg: 4 Ovs: 141. Wkts: 14. Avg: 21.47

CHRIS TREMLETT Forced home after one Test. Future in doubt as faces an op on back problem. 3/10 Inns: 2. Runs: 1. Avg: 0.5 Ovs: 21. Wkts: 0. Avg: 0
