A top four consisting of Tamim, Kayes, SN and Ash is a recipe for disaster... all of them lack temperament and prone to brain farts. We will most likely be 4 wkts down before 50 runs

Shakib is a class player, however he is not in form. In his last few outings he is mediocre at best. His failure in the middle is detrimental to BD win. I have more confidence in Nasir than Shakib in the middle; point in reference last ODI in Zim.

Top 4 = 50. This is T20, we are talking about. Shakib is no better than those top 4 if you are judging by the last match. This is not the time to look for Samuel, Gayle or Pollard in BD. This is to adjust team order according to player's form and confidence.

who told you Sak is not in form?
he is always in form as an ODI batsman when he is playing for BD.
T20/IPL/county are different thing.

That is exactly what I want too. But I dont see that happening with so many top orders fighting their way in. Nafees/Ashraful/Hom/Junaid/Rockibul even mushfiq.

Plus we would need replacements for people batting lower order such as alok or nasir if they fail to live up to expectations. Currently we have none. Otherwise the batting order reshuffles again. The main problem here is that we try to fit in batsmen into positions. Ideally there should be replacements for each and every position so that if one is not performing it has no impact on the others who are performing as he is being replaced.Sadly this team chemistry is such, it seems hard to achieve that.

He played throughout his career in top order. Sadly our NAT team management forced him to bat at lower order. His practice match runs also came batting up the order.

what i have seen of Naeem, he doesn't seem like top order material and definitely not no. 3 material. At no. 3 a batsman needs to be equally good against pace and spin as he may have to come into bat the 2nd ball or after 20 overs. The only batsman that is technically capable of doing that is either Shakib or Mushfiq.

I agree that Naeem is not a lower order batter in domestic cricket...but we have seen he simply doesn't survive long enough even when the ball is old and thats not because he is trying to hit out or anything... he has mostly tried to play defensive innings and yet still got out.How to you expect him to survive against the new ball and when the best bowlers are bowling?

I don't see Naeem getting a chance at #3. It's pretty clear that team management are using him more as a #6/7 batsman. Ash will get the nod at #3 for the series. If he fails, then for the Pakistan series we'll probably see either SN, Junaid, or Rokibul come in and tried at #3 before Naeem gets a shot.

His last couple of innings is a 71 ball 79 in the last match and 39 not out vs zimbabwe the match before!

Rules changing in ODI from tomorrow

No runners

-New balls from both ends in ODIs

-Batting and bowling Powerplays to be taken between overs 16 and 40

-Captains to be suspended after only two over-rate breaches in a year, as opposed to the existing three

-Batsmen can be dismissed obstructing the field if they change their course while running to prevent a run-out chance

- Bowlers will be allowed to run out a non-striker backing up unfairly
