I am not sure I will quite yet put Bangladesh on top. I think the game is keenly balanced on a razor sharp edge. The advantage will shift to Bangladesh the longer we bat and closer we get to lunch. Bat past lunch - we are surely on top.

Probably you are right because the name of the team is Bangladesh. Any other Test nation (except Zim) with a 147 run lead with 6 wickets remaining on a slow, low and deteriorating wicket will be certainly on top.

Khondaker Mirazur Rahman spends as much time on BanglaCricket as on his PhD research on Gene Targeted Drug Design. Like a true PhD student his articles are all well researched. He goes by the nick "Miraz" on our forums and is also a BanglaCricket editor.

Thanks Miraz Bhai. I believe you won't forget to ask what is his plan about the retirement. I would be little harsh on that question

He was a different material.

Dear Miraz Bhai,
In what base you can tell Bashar Different Material? I know he might be the first batsman to score 3000 runs but look at how many tests he took for that. He was never regarded top class batsman in world cricket. Or is he? 50 test matches he played, more then 33% times he fail to touch even double figure. How many chance he is given? How we know in last two years if Kapali or Tushar Imran was given this much opportunity they wont score more that that. infact Bashar performance in so pathetic in both form of cricket in last two years anyone can do much better then him. When we have so many talented cricket who is doing excellent in domestic cricket ( like Nasmus Sadat) why we are giving him chance after chance. Is a batsman spot in national creat team is so damn cheap?
Here is Bashar’s last 10 test innisg. Please don’t ask me about his recent ODI records. I promise that look even worst then this.

sure that could be one q
otherwise, his rise, fall, recent domestic success, hattrick, his comeback desire, his future plan.
i believe, he is still young and have to offer a lot to bangladesh cricket. Its not too long ago, he was considered most talented after Ashraful. isn't it?

i agree. Though i dont want bashar in the squad anymore due to his current form but he was way better than other batsman in that category. But his time is up now, he should consider retirement.
