Seems like Vettory did go to the umpire after having a chat with Maccullum. (Replay)

The big point is our captain failed to realize the situation. But again no need to make a fuss about that either cause $hit happens...plus hes only 22-23 and would learn this over time.

But important thing is, we need to grow our backbones. When no playing condition is there but batting cause the opponent wants that... hurts us more than these issues.

If there are no guts to ask lights there is no point getting engaged in verbal arguments against Vito mastan and getting out soon after (like Tameem did).
Shame! Shame!! Shame!!!

hris Martin broke the resistance soon after tea with the second new ball, though replays showed that Shakib's under-edge bounced well short of Brendon McCullum, who claimed the catch instantly. It was an unfortunate end to a special innings

take it easy... though ross tailor did some thing like this in a game last time. and he was standing in the 1st slip from where it was very clear... anyway i don't blame the keeper. there was no way he would know that... things will come back just wait...

I didn't see the incident so can't comment on it. But my generation impression from the on-field behaviour of some NZ players, Vettori in particular, has been disappointing to say the least. It started with the ODI series when Vettori quite deliberate tried to unnerve the BD batsmen with his sleazy tactics. Unfortunately Tamim fell into the trap and the rest you all know. I didn't expect this from the NZ captain.

KP, this is the fourth thread on McCullum incident (we love to whine, don't we?!). I and few others already posted lengthy explanations why there should be reasonable doubt that McCullum collected the catch without noticing the ball grazing the grass before it hit his gloves. If you have time, go through the thread Mijan bhai created.

As for Vettori, I just don't see how anyone had seen what he was doing when Shakib was walking out of the field as the camera was focused on Shakib.

BTW, I guess it's hard to remember that two years ago, when Sidr hit Bangladesh, NZC was the only board arranged a charity match for Sidr victims. BCB requested our neighboring countries for another charity match, but their players were too busy to respond. I guess two years is too long to forget that kind of good gesture and start mouthing off New Zealanders for a play ground dispute.

his eyes were on the ball the entire time...he knows, the ball landed on the grass 3-4 inches away. microns i can understand 3-4 inches is blatant.

besides, now vettorri is claiming WK was unsure...something doesn't add up.

But, whats that got to do with this incident? Most of us are not calling the whole of New Zealanders as cheaters. Some will say outrageous stuff. That's part of a forum. But, there is no question about Mccullum's dishonesty in this instance. Yeah, sh*t happens, but he is one who made an a** out of himself by claiming a catch that landed clearly on the grass. There is no need to bring Sidr in this.

BTW, if you don't like us calling McCullum what he deserves, then cover your ears. Stop acting as the moral police here.

I remember the English WK, I think the batsman was Masud Pilot and he was playing a really gritty innings. They wanted to finish the match on day three before lunch and pushed for that catch which never happened.

I wish UDRS was there on Fatulla match, Aftab was never LBW on second innings, we could have won it as the umpires got pushed by Ponting to give a decision.

I blame the Umpires.

McCullum told his captain that he was unsure, and Vettori let the umpires know. Well, that is fair enough for me from NZ's part. It is the umpires who still did not go to the 3rd umpire. This is unacceptable. BCB should complain to ICC against the umpires first describing the whole incident.

I saw the catch live it wasn't that clear. it became clean in slowmow but still only in one angle... in anycase this was for sure the 1st and 2nd slip knew what was happening as they were looking at that. On top sakib himself was looking at the catch but couldn't tell...

Shewag is probably the only Indian cricketer who "walks" (seen Yuvraj and Tendulkur do it a couple of times but have seen them hold their ground as well ) !

According to me Shewag ..undiplomatic yes ...but cheater ..dont think so !

you couldn't be more wrong. it's just your bias speaking here. as bharat said, he usually walks. the current bunch plays as clean as they come. I only remember ganguly once saying he wasn't sure to the umpire when he should have known it was a bump catch. that's the only instance even close to cheating I've seen in over 2 decades of watching the Indian team play cricket.

undiplomatic is "gee, that sweater seems to have shrunk on you, ma'am". there's a very broad line between undiplomatic and "sir, i'd like to tonk your wife in the butt". statements like "they'll get meal allowance only (don't know who said it, some BCCI chief)" aren't undiplomatic, they're symptomatic of a greater feeling of animosity and vitriol.

look, I too can make up something allegedly said by shakib against Indians.
I know you like to 'imagine' all kinds of insults from India to feed your pet paranoia but it is simply not true. you have no evidence, no proof yet you go on on this tangent.
smells like a conspiracy theory to me. (the feds are gonna get me....... illuminati runs the world...........BCCI is responsible for global warming.............)
