Happy with Day 1
If Day 1 was any indication, I think the BPL will be very good for Bangladesh.
1. A century in spectacular fashion by Gayle
2. A 200+ score by Kings
3. Some good performance from the local boys : Mullah, Kapali
4. Decent totals put up by both losing teams
All this should attract bigger names in the future and if BPL can land a team in the Champions League, things will be brighter.
I'm hoping the BD boys will learn how to play scoring shots and bowl according to situation by practicing and playing with their international team mates.
The only thing that was a bit hard to take was lack of Deshi bowlers on display. But its understandable given the quality we have at the moment.

Don't forget if Gayle's team makes CL, he would probably play for his IPL squad and not his BPL squad. Gayle is half of his BPL team. Or will there be a bidding war between IPL and BPL when that happens. Now imagine what happens when all 10 countries have their premier leagues, and 15 months of every year are reserved solely for Premier league "windows".

Exactly my thoughts. I don't give a rats rear end about how many ducks Ashraful will get, or how many single digit dismissals Tamim can rack up in this tourney. I want to see the uncapped BD players get games and exposure. So far, Anamul did not get a bat down at #10,043 in the batting order, and Asif barely got a hit batting slightly higher up at #9842.
How Naved ul Hasan makes it ahead of Anamul Haque is beyond me.

Especially as Ian pointed out Anamul Haque's stroke making capabilities. Maybe he thought Anamul isn't much of a slogger? Hope to see him bat properly soon.
On Day 2, among the uncapped, it was good to see Sabbir bat well and Mizanur too, though he may not be the T20 type. Opu bowled well and fielded well.

its important to keep in mind that the team's obligation is to win and not be a farm system for the national team.
So I don't have a problem with the teams being international heavy in its roster in the early parts of bowling and batting. Its up to the Bangladeshi players to take advantage and prove themselves in the nets to earn those spots and make full use of them when they do get it.
at AlF, until ICC does something meaningful with the international calendar and test cricket, Premier leagues will continue to grow. Don't start complaining about side effects till you deal with the root cause itself.

Day 2
Boring. Only interesting part were two hattrick situations. One of course probably not counting towards hattrick because the batsmen crossed. Forgot who the bowler was: Andre? Azhar? First match.
Second match. Was totally wishing for Harwood hattrick. But reading report I think missed out a really good first 8 overs from Burners. They scored like 80 runs huh?
