khali hing-sha!
He deserves a good salary. Aussie coaches are really high class professionals. Dav Whatmore proved it. They won't sit on a salary and enjoy life. I think it's almost like here in the US. They don't sit and enjoy the salary. They work for it. If you do, soon RIP will be written on your forehead. Stop, this nagging again and again.

Bangladesh won 3 matches in WC2007 (against India,Bermuda,South Africa)....so BD needs to win 6 matches in next WC according to your assumption to be considered as a good investmen

Inqilab today said his salary is $ 225K/year (bit high, but still ok). They also provided salary for previous foreign coaches, information they claimed is acquired from BCB's audit reports.
Mohinder Amar - TK 100K/month
Gordon Greenidge - $5K/month
Eddie Barlow - $6.5K/month
Trevor Chappell - $4.5K/month
Mohsin Kamal & Ali Zia - $4.5K/month
Dav Whatmore - $8K/month (first two years) & $10K/month (last two years)

We all are saying the same thing, but in a different words.

Thank you for catching the point. I wasn't saying he is paid too much as many of us are directly picking on me.
Secondly, guys that are complaining and saying what Yankee coach and Indian coaches are getting, I just wanna say, We are not talking about India or USA, or in a matter effect England (where doctors are paid as much), we are simply talking about Bangladesh.
Also, gentleman who compared me with his dad, I wanna say, I am honored, but the difference is.. your dad is comparing dollar into tk... and we are paying Siddons tk converted to dollars... a big difference!!!

B-maruf,
After all said and done in an international market this taka-dollar relationship goes out the window if you want to bag a quality coach. You are no longer competiting in BD market (local coaches). better offer will bag these quality coach in a heartbeat. Business decision at best. Looking at the bottom line.
For those who are bringing in other sports coaches and players are making an argument in a wrong way. They must make the argument as in sports often the better quality coaches get better paid in the industry. Not relate to BD cricket coaching. For the yankee organization, lol, highest payroll team (best coach + best players) has nothing to show for most of the time. We do not want to be like that. We can't be like that actually.

My guess - as a specialized batting coach, Siddons has not worked with more than 3-4 batsmen at a time. Now he not only has to work on batting of 15 players, but also has to oversee the whole training program. He is probably feeling little overwhelmed and wants some additional help.
He is taking Shaun Williams as an assistant coach in NZ tour, which I think is a good thing, Williams should make Siddons' transition period with Bangladesh team smoother.

Interesting ...I thought he is batting coach himself..but we need more sources whether he said that.
Agree with Mr. T.E and others that no point of comparing with other sports and organization. We already made the decision now we have to see whether players can improve their standards. It also depend lot on individual players too.

Why would this worry? To improve leaps and bounds in a short time two heads are better than one. four pair of eyes can help identify evaluate players shortcoming better than two pairs. If you want an Australian type of settings, if you want to be the number one or atleast compete with the #1 day in day out, you have to have multiple coaches helping the professional players.
All American Football teams (Pro and ameture) have head coaches with offensive Co-ordinators and defensive co-ordinators. Even if the head coach is labeled as defensive coach or a offensive coach. I see nothing wrong.

I understand, but don't you think hiring someone like Wasim Akram, (who showed his interest long ago) will help build Mashrafe, Shahadat into a genuine match winner? I mean if he himself is a batting coach then then I think we should cover the whole area... Salauddin can take care of fielding, but in my humble opinion, we do need WA kind of bowling coach... before we even think of "another" batting coach.

How about this idea
Top order batting coach : Siddons (most of our top order batsmen have technical deficiencies and need the best coach we can provide)
Middle order batting coach : McInnes (most of our middle order batsmen are technically sound, but need regular betroghat to make them perform more regularly)
Late order batting coach : Owen Matua

Nice read, but another story caught my. Scroll down all the way - do you see it? the ghoust of Pilot is still haunting our media and management. It would be interesting to see what's Sid's take on that.

If people with an university degree and a few years of experience can get something like 100k then why are we complaining abt a person who is in the sports industry getting just double of that.....he would have got that 200k just in 2 months had he became a coach of an ipl team
