Odi squad - first time no passengers?
Bangladesh squad
Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Imrul Kayes, Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Sabbir Rahman, Nasir Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Rubel Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mominul Haque
In:Liton Das, Nasir Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mominul Haque
Out:Mosaddek Hossain, Sunzamul Islam, Shafiul Islam
No likes of sajib TanBir hom
It's actually a squad you can't really complain against...extraordinary for our selectors
Mods merge thread if necessary, couldn't find a general squad thread

Very good squad indeed. And we have a capable captain in Mashrafe to lead and motivate.
Tamim Iqbal
Soumya Sarkar
Mominul Haque/Liton Das
Mushfiqur Rahim
Shakib Al Hasan
Mahmudullah Riyad
Sabbir Rahman
Mashrafe Mortaza
Taskin Ahmed
Rubel Hossain
Mustafizur Rahman
My ideal XI. Sabbir is better off coming down the order and finishing the innings. Imrul should be on the bench.

Who would you pick between Mini and Liton? Both test players and neither has had a good ODI track record. I would go with Liton just to take the gloves off mushy. But I'm also curious to see how Mini does.

Would drop SS on current form. Play both Momin and Liton.

SS for Liton makes sense. But unfair to drop SS based on test performance while keeping Sabbir, when the former has accomplished more in ODIs.
Momin at 3 should get another run, but I would also like to see Liton here. I'm just happy both have been included and for once our selection was right.

I am conflicted lol. I would go with Liton just so he can keep and we also have a right-hand batsman coming on after two left-hand openers. At the same time, Mushy does decent enough with the gloves in the shorter formats and Mini looks like a good #3 with technique and temperament and never got a full run at that position before.
But watch the management go with their usual Sabbir @ 3 and Miraz/Nasir coming @ 7.

Same XI for me except Sabbir at 6 and Dullah at 7 and Saifuddin getting a run in place of Taskin or Rubel.

Can easily aggravate those TBH. I wouldn't even bother bringing him in for the first ODI, but definitely starting in 2nd or third if he is good to go.
Das Kayes Sarker combo at the top of the order possibly even mominul at 1 and 2 for possibly the first ODI. Then Tamim if good to go takes his spot with Sarker for 2nd and third ODI.

Wont be surprised if management make up for the lack of a passenger with a terrible team combination (Sabbir@3, Kayes, Miraz..)

Yep, they'll find a way
I'd go
Same as above with mominul at 3
I'd like to see Saifuddin get a game unless series up for grabs, which I doubt will happen

enough of Sabbir at number 3. Time to change it up with either Liton/Mom. Getting tired of them quick 20 runs and then a walking wicket.

Solid ODI squad. Obviously a few i dont agree with (Imrul, Miraz,Soumya) but still its a good enough. I guess seeing "Mashrafe Mortaza" alone fixes a lot of negativity lol
Anyways, my top 11 would be,
Tamim
Liton
Mominul
Mushy
Shakib
Riyad
Shabbir
Mash
Rubel
Fizz
Taskin
Lets start fresh and kill this!

Mash has been and always will be my number 1 Bangladeshi player i support thick and thin . There are times when he doesn't really have "it". but you gotta love his intent and aggression and burning desire to win. something lacking in Mushy many a times (Except when the opposition is India ).
These are my most favorite Bangladeshi players in that order:
1. Mashrafee Mortaza
2. Shakib al Hasan
3. Mominul Haque.
To me, these are the three cricketers who took Bangladesh from "minnows" to somewhat respectable position in world cricket.

Guys, what I will suggest is different from all of you.
I would play Nasir at no. 3. Given the maturity he has developed in the recent time and his hunger for success, I think he would do a good job. Plus, Nasir is an excellent rotator, keeps busy and anchors well. We dont need a swashbuckling player at 3. In addition, he adds depth in bowling. Remember when he came at 4 in the Asia-cup in 2012 and we beat India and Sri Lanka for fun. He made run-a-bowl in both games.
So here's mine:
Litton (WK)
Shoumya
Nasir
Mushfiqur
Shakib
Riyad
Shabbir
Saifuddin
Mashrafe (C)
Mustafizur
Rubel/Taskin
We have batting till Mashrafe, 4 pacers (5 if Shoumya bowls), 2 offies, 1 SLA.
