Default Lack of common senss

There r plenty talents. But only lack of common sense wont make our players into williamson or smith.
They need to:

1. Stop getting excited after hitting boundaries
2. Stop Playing rash shots
3. Stop fancy shots and play rather straight bat conventional shot
4. Tamim should stop dancing down the track.
5. In test match, if a wicket falls then block for next 4 overs
6. Everyone should learn how to bat from mominul and mushfiq

Not only common sense but forgetting the basics of playing too. Here are my observations:

- Calling and running between wickets has been quite poor in all formats
- The ball watching disease is rampant with most players
- Mental conditioning among Bangladeshi players is also not present in our culture, I think this has to be dont from the grass roots.
- Repeatedly bowling short and wide among bowlers is also a concern
- Fielding has been pathetic. Dropped catches and not attacking the bowl to stop easy runs is also an issue.
- Also in our culture, I feel there is a lack of professionalism. Players also are big foodies and quite quickly develop inflated tummies like their egos after a knock of good performances. Also some also smoke as well.

Look we can discuss all day but things are not getting better. We have to accept it. It will take 3 to 4 generation for us to be competitive at this rate.

Can someone remember when Sakib last time played domestic 4 days match? He has been playing t20 leagues around the globe. If you don't play 4 or 5 days domestic match you can't improved your technique. It's simple. BCB should force players like Sakib and others in national team to play our longer version domestic leagues regularly as BCCI does in India. Kholi and others always plays atleast few matches in Ronji trophy. Test match isn't a place where you try to improve your technique. Sakib's brain freezing shot in the first test against kiwi tell us he didn't learned anything from horrible shot he played in last series against England. It was second ball of 3rd day of test. BCB should look into this before Sakib humiliate us more in upcoming series.

We just need to accept that our players are just not as intelligent as these major sides. Strong team at home, but still have a awful long way to go away from home. The good thing is that nearly all teams are struggling away from home anyway especially in the test arena.

But yeah, like the OP has said, with a bit of common sense, we could've quite easily drawn this test, as well as win at least 1 ODI & T20.

Shakib tremendously improved his all round game when he played County Cricket in England. We all saw that in the NZ series that followed.

I am surprised that Shakib has not played more county cricket. Others like Mominul, Tamim, Taskin etc. should also do the same. I think that T20 is certainly to blame. And BD are not the only team to blame. Australia also suffered - losing to Saffers at home. They did not play shield cricket prior, and many test players hardly any shield games.

But BD have work to do and must put emphasis on Tests. Planning needs to change.

Taking bunch of rookies on an overseas tour outside subcontinent, leaving an experienced player like Nasir home. The team's lack of common sense is not limited to players only.

How about the commonsense in making Taskin bat ahead of other tail enders

I am shocked we didn't pick Nafees or even Anamul for that matter.

Shanto Nurul aren't ready for international cricket yet
