Actual population of Bangladesh

I was watching the news on NTV the other day and there were exerpts of speeches from both party leaders.

Jalil Chor loudly proclaimed that 140 million people(choudda koti Janata) are with them. A few minutes later Mannan dakat claimed that 140 miilion are with them. Since poloticians never lie and assuming that no one person is with both of them then the correct polpulation of Bangladesh must be 140+140=280 million.

Oh don't worry about their numbers...they're just numbers. The last home minister (forgot his name) was one of a kind. When one reporter asked him how many murders were there in Dhaka in the last year, he said "oh, 245". Who'll go around and check it? Nobody.
