BC UK get together 2006 in Christmas Vacation

I am taking the idea from ATMR's thread for Canada BC members.

We have sufficient number of BC memebrs in UK to arrange a get together. It can be whole day even with some fun.

I already discussed with few members and they are optimistic about it.

Now please, BC UK members post in this thread about your views and participation. We should be able to make a plan within couple of weeks.

And it wud b really great if we get together for a single day and I m sure we will have a lot of fun..

In case of place I prefer london, i dont mind outside of london but shudnt b not more than 1 hr journey.

I'll prefer London but as Omio said, I don't mind anywhere with a reasonable Journey time.

I am going to make this thread as sticky temporarily for all the UK based fans. Anyway I am not sure about my availability. But I will confirm you guys later. I am going to Dhaka just after new year so will be kinda busy at that time. But I have a plan to visit Bristol after Xmas. If I come to Bristol then definitely I will try to go there as only 2/3 hours drive from there.

Some suggestions: Decide the place, time and plan amongst all the members you get a response from in this thread. Then make a list of all UK members, send a PM telling them what's happening with the link to this thread. Why? Not a lot of people visit Forget Cricket. You don't want people to miss this.

Even though i live in Dublin , I can come if its in London( thanks to Ryan Air ). It is a fantastics idea. Please let me know, when and where because i need to book my Ryan Air ticket on time .

If everyone can post ideas of how we can spend the day, that should help us decide on a suitable location. Earlier we meetup the better, as people from outside London may have to travel a long distance on return.

Now,

I am telling a plan,

- We can meet in the morning to some place preferably a park or ground where its possible to play some cricket

-Will have our breakfast there
-Will play a round of cricket
- Have lunch
- Some quiz, raffle draw and music
- A small river cruize to end the day.

I prefer 27th or 28th December 2006. Members with family are welcome as the place for meeting and playing I am thinking has got nice playground and a large wood as well.

Please let me know. I'll send PM to all UK members as soon as we decide about the date.

Hasan bhai, Hatebreed and Omio should takle the initiatives to speed up the proceedings.

If we can play cricket that will b really fantastic, but I m not sure abt weather, I dont think so its gonna support us to play cricket.
There is a big rugby ground near to westham underground, and we can play cricket over there, last summer we played cricket and football over there.

And, we got another member name shewar, he is from camden town, so we shud inform him aswell..

No worries Miraz bhai...it's probably coz of the holiday schedule that works differently in Canada. It's probably a little different in the UK. Most students should be off by the 20th, so relax and chilax

I liked the idea of bowling. We can change the last part of our program.

Bowling instead of river cruise.

How do you feel. And as there is no specfic date mentioned by anyone. I want to propose it as 27th December.

So, if anyone has got any problem with 27th December, please let me know. I will send PM every BC UK members tomorrow stating the date and the program.

It would have been very nice in summer, so we could have gone to a theme park. As for date, how about 31st? So we can also celebrate new year's eve, go to London Eye area and watch some fireworks, those who are willing to.

HB, I don't mind on 31st, sometimes people have their own plan to celebrate 31st with friend and family. BC get together is a bit different as I think most of the memebers will meet each other for the first time.

Good idea, now let's see how others think about the proposal.

Great idea, I would have loved to come but unfortunately I'm going down to Portsmouth with my family for the holidays. Tis a shame.
