Did Anyone Say Drop Ashraful?
The miracle of miracles has been achieved. It was a day when all our big guns performed. But no one would argue that Ashraful's innings was probably the single most important innings in Bangladesh's cricket history. Only yesterday, numerous members of this forum were calling for Ashraful's head.I have always said and will say that Ashraful is our best batsman bar none. We need to perservere with our best players and not dump them when they are going through a rough patch.I hope this performance shuts up all the Ash bashers and critics for good! Congrats Tigerz

Ashraful what a player, he is a match winner.
I had Bangladesh to win at 50/1.
What a day!

i said to drop ashraful before the match, i know why i said it because he hasnt done a damm thing after that 158* against india. he can be our star batsman but he needs to be consistant, i say if he keeps on giving his wicket away selecters should drop him as punishment.

If Ashraful can play consistently like Aftab then I will think he is one of the greatest batsman of Bangladesh and he could be one of the best batsman of the world !!
But he has got some wrong technique like open his two feet wider and go wider to the off stump. I don't want to see him go our foolishly in the next matches specially against the English bouncy bowlers !

Guys I have always followed bangla cricket.I dont think even my country(India) has such a passsionate cric fan club as yours.Bangladesh have the future of Asian cricket in their hands.Mohammad Ashraful,Aftab Ahmad and Mashrafe are gonna become one of the greats the game has ever seen .
Undoubtedly Ashraful is just like the young Tendulkar,he has amazing ability tto dominate any bowling attack.Aftab is awesome..
Cherish this great day in your cricketing history ....there are more to come in Bangladesh cricket in a couple of years.

Yes..I am one of the persons who said Ashraful should be dropped. If he shows such inconsistency and immaturity all around the year---he should certainly be dropped. He just plays good knocks on some rare occasions. If he goes back to his inconsistent batting form again, we will again raise our voice to drop him. Today's 100 against Australia was one of the rare days when he really performs. All other time-he is just a big talker. We should not forget all the pains he gave us with all his bad performances after his 158 run innings. I am not saying he will have to make big runs all the time---but he must show some consistency and maturity. I hope this innings give him some self-belief to perform consistently.

Well, if Ash keeps playing like a mature from this point, that is terrefic. Otherwise, dropping him once a while from the team still remains the proven fix-up for him.
