We will no doubt surpass West Indies soon. Their players only care about T20.

New Zealand is getting strong though with lot of talented young players coming in.

If NZ loses the match on Nov 10th, both BD and NZ will be at 83 points; but we will be ranked ahead of NZ due to scoring same points from less number of games.

If NZ is defeated in the 2nd match, they will be 1 point below us.

If NZ wins 3rd match, they will regain the position and will be 2 points ahead. If they lose 3rd match, they will stay at 82 points while we stay at 83 points.

Basically, if NZ wins any of the matches; we won't be in the #8 slot.

SL please whitewash

SL are lions in their own den, especially since NZ seem to struggle in the subcontinent, wouldn't be too hard for them to be whitewashed.

I agree here... Also they beat srilanka last year ... & level the test series.... So they will fight back.... Also they r out of 5 sakib....( ryder, guptil, macculam, williams, vetori)... So i will say, if all the players would play together.... Sri wont survive... They r not the same team anymore like was 10 yrs back....(srilanka)

It's really simple, beating teams like India, Australia, South Africa even once earns us more points than beating New Zealand 3/4 times in a row. That alone should be enough inspiration for us to do well when we play them next. With the current ODI team, I think we can dream of advancing forward in the points system, looking at the other teams around, we might not be a top 5, but it is still very hard for any team to beat us at our home grounds.

I am bit confuse about which team i would support in SL-NZ series. Due to two reasons,
1. for improving our ranking (i should support SL)
2. for proving our victory was against a strong NZ team (i should support NZ)

Finally came to a conclusion that i would go for option 1 but SL should win also all matches very marginally (< 10 run or < 2 wts )

i think if NZ with this side can beat SL then it'll prove that SL is going down because this isn't NZ's 1st side..their Main players are Missing(Brandon,Taylor,Daniel,Willamson)

I think it is a pointless effort to bank on matches not involving Bangladesh to determine what our ranking is. All such will be transient. The only way to guarantee we keep moving up is to consistently beat those ranked just above us AND those ranked below us. I will enjoy those other series' purely for their cricketing value and not how that impacts us.
