Default Rafique , Sujon OUT

Just heard from the news that Rafique & Sujon has been omitted from the team and Tareq Aziz & Mushfiqur has been taken.

I dont know why Rafique is omitted. He should have in the team.

Both are reporting the same thing.

i think it is the right move.Reason

now we three three geniune fast bowlers out of which one is alrighty batsman .

tarq and taposh can open instead of taposh and sujon

already 2 spinner who are decent batsman.

not a bad move from from my veiw point.

by the way razzaq is seeming to be very good!to early to tell but i think even better the rafquie.'

what do u think?

I think it is a pretty good decision. The bowling attack looks good to me. I am looking forward to it.

Tapash
Tareq (who apart from that first over was quite decent)
Mushfique
Razzak
Rana

last post I made, Rafique is required just
to check after 20 overs period. we need
him to check the runs...now we will just
give away 20 extra runs.

Pompous and Emad 3, so you basically saying rafique is not worthwhile anymore or what? Either Tapash or Tareq hasn’t done anything in this competition. so, Why do you think this is going to be a decent bowling attack?

Anyway, all I am hoping for is to content malik! If we don’t manage to get him early expect another blitz!

What you guyz have to understand is that the match has an irrelevant outcome for both sides, and what Bangladesh are simply trying to do is biuld on their young talents and allow them the space to gain more experience and improvement.

This is not suggesting that Rafique and Chacha are useless, well the latter may be but this is allowing them to rest and re-think their strategy and also allowing new-talent to flourish.

Tareq is still learning and improving, also we have Razzaq which is playing impressively and what these players need is a platform where the level of pressure is not that high so this gives them the room to allow TRIAL and ERROR to occur. they are most likely to be in the squad for a long time so give them the opportunity to improve on thier perfomances and let them play their cricket.

I'm really glad with the decision. with the outcome of the match irrelavant to the prograss, bd can afford to loose rafique for one match to make him realize that his position is not permanent either and only way to stay in the team is to perform. just look at this last few odi performances? nothing positive at all. no wicket in 3 match against WI, and u know about asia cup. well, tareq is no good either and i don't understand the justification of including him in 14 member team, but thats a different issue.

Finally Sujon is dropped for a game - I thought the day would never come. Rafique has been dropped to give Sujon some company in the dressing room lest he (Mahmud) goes beserk and smashes his head through a window.

tareq will, of course, suck but I don't mind this move because rafique needs to get his act together - watching him bowl in the ODIs is not worth the 15 bucks I had to spend on the dish package, sad to say.

Tell me who is effective in our squad! Absolutely nobody! I agree he needs some time off as well! But, not at this time around. You know this is our last game. I remember what happened against Zimbabwe we lost cuz he wasn’t there in the final ODI. We could have won the series if he had started at that game. anyway, he is a match winner and only match winner in our team!!!!

Dropage of rafiq is bit shocking but its good chachu is out. Chacha should go out for good. Rafiq's place is secure up until he decides he wants to quit. Tomorrows match is just to try out new stuff, allow youngsters to play and gain experience .. and if possible to cause an upset. I think rafiq can sit out for a match to see how this combo works for bangladesh .. lets hope for the best

I am not disagreeing with u that he is the best player but it doesnt mean he continue to be the best.Let him take a break and he will come out stronger and this is the last match for us.trying new things would be a good idea

If one looks at Rafique's ODI record, he has taken 50 wickets at an average of 47.28 and his strike rate is 61.4 which suggests that he is expected to go wicketless in every alternative match. In fact he is much less effective than the part timers of other teams. Tendulkar has a better record 126 wickets at an average of 45.30 and a better strike rate of 54. Similarly Sehwag is even better with 45 wickets at an average of 39.35 and a strike rate of 44.4. In fact it was Sehwag's bowling that enabled India to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat against Sri Lanka. Sanath Jayasuriya with 255 wickets at an average of 36.53 and a strike rate of 45.7 is also a vastly superior bowler.

Rafique is not good enough to command his place as a specialist bowler as can be seen from his bowling records.

This is the kind of team I had wanted to see all throughout the tournament - 2 quickies and a medium slow to back them up. Playing three spinners against the best players of spin in the world was not very clever.

rafique was never a threat in ODIs... hence, leaving him out to accomadate a pacer is not a bad idea... at this stage anything goes... moreover, rafique is one of the oldest campaigners in the team and he should be rested once in a while... especially considering his valuable contribution to test cricket... there shouldn't be any doubt that rafique is our NO 1 bowler in test cricket... i would even go as far as to making him a part-timer in the shorter version of the game... i say this cuz without Rafique we won't even survive past the third day...

khaled mahmud's exclusion doesn't really need much elaboration...
