i dont think lotus would forget that considering that he served as the chairman of abahani cricket and is the first person in bangladesh responsible for visiting, negotiating, paying and hosting the biggest foreign names to play for abahani on bangladesh soil - richard illingworth neil fairbrother wasim akram ajay jadeja shahid afridi etc etc....perhaps its us who have forgotten that, us ungrateful so called cricket followers who can only sit in front of our comp screen and whine and b***h about ppl who are at least doing sth!

I don't know who the highest paid player is, but a decent player can expect around $1 million tournament according to cricinfo.

Good amt of money comes if the foreign audiences watch it too. Alone home audience is not enough. SLPL will be able to sustain because it will be popular in Pak besides SL too. Also it will be broadcast almost in all test nations.
NCL T20 was just in BD. The coverage on cricinfo was pathetic and knowledge of tournament was pathetic outside BD. These things should improve and hopefully BPL can provide that

Why does it have to be named like IPL? Copying doesn't produce original quality.

BPL, the name is borrowed from IPL. But NCL is our own. So we can arrange NCL like BPL. It would be good no need to copy name from others.

I think naming it BPL on lines of IPL gives it automatic publicity. SLPL has been talked about in media because of the P. Media reported the SL to have tournament on lines of IPL. Hence it is a way of using the Halo effect (Yes I am from marketing). If you name it NCL then you will have to create a brand.
In BPL get some decent players like SLPL did and people will tune in for some matches and broadcasters will be willing to broadcast abroad coz of that Halo effect

It was true ICL also had a appeal from people. Though they indroduced these kind of tournament they could create attraction to the people because of their planning. But they were bound to stop their league because BCCI and ICC opposed it.
When IPL was started as new league and with a new system it got popularity from the begining. Those two teams got popularity with new names.
I'm not the student of marketing or never stadied marketing. But from those two above examples I have understood that if you organise correctly it make automatically publicity the name who you give.
Creativity is always respected not copying.

It is not copying dude. It would be called reapplication. Obviously BCB will add local flavor. Anything BCB will make will be popular in BD. Even NCL was well received but the difference comes when you have to break the other markets. So in that aspect "P" will help
Innovation and creativity can come in the tournament format like Big Bash is using "Super Over", "2 Bouncers", "Balls take away by crowds". Similarly BCB should introduce such innovations mat=ybe like "Designated Hitter" or "One super match (If you win you take 4 pts instead of 0)" or ""Choose the bowler" for one over from a list given before the match or any such innovations. This would mean people who watch a match will be caught by the hype around it. I think these are the things that will make more difference

Mate, actually I like your posts because these are iformative. We have packnowledge that when India intoduce anything it makes more appeal than others. Because they have a grand market. They can easily attract all over the cricket world which isn't possible for other countries.
If you want to get market playing cricket you have to get market in India. IMO this is the main fact followed India by others.

ATN BANGLA knows of their viewer are Bangladeshi. They don't need to compete with other international chanel. So they don't need to improve their quality as a Bangladeshi you are bound to watch it.

It has been learnt that PCB’s Director Domestic Cricket Zakir Khan told players they can only appear in the BPL T20 league if they write to the board that they no longer want to play for Pakistan and in Pakistan. http://www.thenews.com.pk/TodaysPrin...D=86714&Cat=10
