Default Guess the bowler

Since January 2014 against Top 8 teams:
9 matches
16 wickets
Average of 23.56 (only Mitchell Starc has a better average)
Strike-rate of 26
Econ. rate of 5.42 (bowling mainly at the death)

Guess this pacer.

Will reveal in a few more minutes. Let's see if we can get a few more guesses. Try not looking at stats. It leads to an important point/discussion.

Is this the catch? Since we are in the top 8 and Pakistan isn't?

Faruk in recent tv interview said he wasn't left out because of disciplinary issues but because of form..

I always rated Al Amin as a good bowler. In short format he is a big deal. This is why mash requested about him in world cup.

A somewhat disingenuous discussion because many of those stats were accrued before his action getting reviewed. I can, having watched him bowl since and before, can assuredly say that he has lost that bit of nip/zip which made him effective. Not a lot, just a few KMPH probably, but much like Mathew Hoggard before he was dropped during the NZ tour, it's critical. Now even with that, one could argue that he's still one of the top 5 pacers in the country (with our limited pacer pool). So we can continue to have that debate - I just find it not useful to bring up past stats to claim he's really this diamond that we are not valuing.

His action was never found to be illegal so there's nothing stopping him from bowling with that same action. Yes he did look pretty ineffective against Zimbabwe but I think that was more to do with the mental taxation he must have endured during the whole ordeal of proving his action legal. I believe he also had an exam around the time of that series. I just find it amazing that the selectors can so nonchalantly discard a bowler of his quality and not bother to offer a proper explanation. I can only wonder about the difference he would have made against India in the world cup. He is by far the best Bangladeshi death bowler I have seen.

I thought this was supposed to be a trivia thread.

Can I go next?

Guess this bowler. 2 balls, one no ball and that's it for an entire match

plus he only played two match after that action test (in one of them he only bowled one or two over probably). So really i don't see how people can judge him from that.

His action was passed but he was no longer effective. Maybe he has become over conscious of his bowling action, but as I mentioned before he's lost a critical amount of zip off the pitch. What you guys seem to be forgetting is that he was DOMINATING domestics before he got his call up. Remember how Gowza would bring up his first class and List A stats and we all wanted to see him and then how underwhelmed we were when we saw this skinny kid? Well check out his domestic stats since reporting and the biometric test. Very average.

Again, even with that, one can argue he's one of our better pacers so I'm not debating that. I'm just asserting he's NOT the bowler he was before getting reported.

This bowler bowled Off-breaks, leg-breaks, and medium pace during his career.

Who is it?
