Default This BD innings is right at the top

This bangladesh innings of 250 is one of the best ODI innings in the history of Bangladesh. Batting first against world champions, down 75-5 to recover such a healthy total, it's so refreshing to see.
Guess what, no Javed Omar to screw around in the middle overs.

May be our bowlers will try to redeem themselves and we might be in for SOMETHING!

The building block of this innings was the 94 run parternship between Nafees and Pilot. Guess how they played....ones and twos. That's how you play ODI cricket.

Javed out for duck and Bangladesh was 75/5 could have been 100 all out.

Anyways, very good batting by by Nafees and Pilot. We have a very good chance of winning today. Lets just pray for the best.

Javed Omar's 81 against England was the gangrene of BD innings. We always had wickets, but scored a measly 208 in a very good batting wicket and fast outfield.

I hope those who "praised" Javed's innings now understand ODI batting little better after watching Shahriar Nafees and Pilot's batting today

Javed got the chance in odi cause no one else could play as openr...

And i guess you would love to see bd allout by 139..

I am not supporting his style but i think he did the right thing by not getting out cuase our tail was not working on that day too.
I think bd scored 250 cause in that match they wanted to stay out in the field for 50 overs and when they managed that they became confidant... (sp after getting all out 139)

I could understand this javed slow batting was wrong if we were 205/5 and there were plyrs to come but we were 205/8 (i think) so which sugests it was hard condition....

While saying all these i think in Srilanak he shouldn't be selected in ODI if Iqbal performs or somebody else... For england condition he was the best answer...

Once again, staying at the wkt and playing 50 overs doesn't mean you stop scoring the singles and twos that are plenty in the middle overs against slower bowlers. Look at Mashud's innings of 42 and todays 71 ( both not out ) and see how mnay fours he hit. Not many. He scored the bulk of his runs scampering for singles and playing with his head. Javed's 81 was one of the worst big innings in living memory. What he does is make the non-striker take chances by going the aerial way, at a time when fielders are scattered all around the park.
