Default Mashrafee on MCC Website

MCC --the guardian of cricket laws—is now displaying Mashrafee Mortaza’s photo in the front page on their web site. MCC owns Lords cricket ground and Bangladesh will play a test against England in lords. So, MCC and Sonali Bank (UK) joined forces to promote this Test match at Lords in May. Mashrafee’s photo is displayed as part of this promotional campaign.

Great initiative by Lords.

Offtopic: didn't know Lords museum has Bulbul's bat!
"The guests in the Museum had an opportunity to see the latest additions to the MCC Collection. (They include the bat used by Aminul Islam Bulbul to score the first Test match century by a Bangladeshi player.)"

That is a very real possibility. My guess is it will definitely happen at one stage or another.

It's good to see MCC taking an interest in BD cricket, and showing a lot of respect. Who cares what BBC, cricinfo, etc. say - it's what the real controllers of cricket think that matters, and the MCC has some really influential power in world cricket...

I bought my ticket for the first day of the first Test today. Probably won't outnumber the English, but we'll make our presence felt for sure!

He is really looking "fired up" in the pic. Happy to see his picture in MCC's website.

Some Encouraging excerpts from the report about BD-Eng series:
MCC and Sonali Bank (UK) Ltd join forces to promote historic Test
March 11, 2005

"...The ticket-selling partnership is the first of its kind in MCC history and reflects the Club's commitment to attract as many people as possible to Bangladesh's first Test match at Lord's.

In an associated initiative, ticket availability is being promoted through leaflets and posters printed in both English and Bengali.

These initiatives are the latest parts of a promotional campaign which began back in September, when MCC hosted a reception for the Bangladesh team - and prominent members of the Bangladeshi community in Britain - at Lord's. The initiatives are designed, too, to build on recent increases in both ticket and box sales for the Test; indeed, almost every box and suite at Lord's has been booked for its first two days.(Availability is now limited for its third day, too.)...."
