Default Ashraful defends decision to drop Mortaza

Mohammad Ashraful, the Bangladesh captain, defended his decision to drop fast bowler Mashrafe Mortaza from the side for the first ODI against South Africa and said Bangladesh had planned to go with three spinners. "Mashrafe did not fit into our plans," Ashraful said.

"He was not chosen to have balance in the team. We needed three spinners. [Syed] Rasel has been very economical these days and Shahadat [Hossain] was in good form. We just could not accommodate him [Mortaza].

Shahadat is not a ODI bowler, he never was. Masri is definitly out of form. Dropping Masri makes sense, but playing Rajib does not.

Anyways, now that Masrafi has felt the threat of losing his place if he does not give 100%, lets play him on the 2nd ODI and see if it worked. If not, send him out for long term.

Mash's body language is vey down and depressing for sometime now. Ash also does not look espirited at all. I think, putting the kids as captain and vice, some one else up the ranks is holding the remote.

The current decisions certainly does not look to be their own. I may be wrong, hope I am. But if that's the case, it's not helping at all. Can some one dig it please.
