Question of the Day in cricinfo:
Doctor Q: "I still can't understan why Zia didn't bowl a single over against Pakistan! Was he selected as a specialist fielder that day??"

Handy should have been included in the t2o wc over Forhad.
Shamsur, Imrul, BIjoy all fighting for top order spot.
Riyad, Naaem, Zia and possibly shabbir lower middle order contenders.
Taijul and arafat surely in contention for replacing lala the idiot for good.
Good to see ccompetition

anamul should have secured one of the opening spots for the next series, assuming tamim is fit then he should have the other but i don't see why we couldn't play shamsur down the order instead of naeem or riyad. shabbir really should be thought about though and even possibly shuvagata (better down the order than riyad and naeem imo). taijul seems to have suddenly completely lost any kind of form he had just a few weeks ago. arafat a really good pick atm. zia if he continues to be handy with the ball can even push for a pacer spot.

Zia bowled so well today, he can keep it tight, better than Phorhad Reja.
Such a shame he couldnt bowl against Pak.

I keep telling people that Zia is better than Mashrafe but everyone laughs at me.
Zia bowls like Syed Rasel. Slow pace but wicket to wicket keeping tight.

We did/do NOT have another Mash in our country, period.
Zia is getting better and better...he would be handy for T20 and ODI but he has to work to keep himself fit...

Pretty decent effort. Bowled in the channel, hit the deck hard. No excuses for Mushfiqur for not using him.

How could Mushi forget Zia's match winning performance in Zimb. ( He got 5 wkts and MOM in ODI)!! Also I remember his tight bowling with prize wicket of Samuel during WI's tour of BD . I think he has personal conflict with Zia .

Mushi for what ever reason hates zea. So he tried to set him up in a low scoring match and wanted to laugh at all those who wanted him to bowl at paks. but it back fired and proves that we all were right and mushi is brain less. some one please go a hit him on the head so that he loses all his ego's and plays for bd not mullah and razzak.

I agree. But, currently, he is completely useless. Doesn't even get a wicket in every match.

He needs to be bowled more he's done well but because he isn't used enough we don't know if he can do it every match.

but... but what it has to do with Mashrafee's assessment of current form? The reality is with all those operations in his body and the age factor dictates that his career is almost over. Unless of course he can revitalize his career by converting more consistent batsman and a utility bowler, like Asif Iqbal and Imran khan did in the later stage of their career.

If the selectors are smart enough they should replace injured gazi with zia.

The fact these selectors left him out of the initial squad and chose farhad reza instead proves they have some sort of brain damage

It's not that simple. Gazi has stitches on his fingers, that's it. He will be ready before the WC begins. You don't just name a player injured and replace him with someone else. I'm pretty sure we will have to prove that he is really injured. Otherwise teams would just fake injuries to replace players.

National team is not a charity. He USED to be our best bowler and would get couple of wickets in the first few overs. Now, he doesn't even get a wicket in a whole match. If he is not back to his former self, then he should be out of the national team and practise until he's a strike bowler like before. I saw his bowling action in the recent matches and he can no longer inswing or outswing the ball. Meanwhile, Al amin showed that he can!

So you pick a T20 specialist for ODI's, and now an ODI specialist for T20.
Hmmm

Reza hardly qualifies for a specialist in either format.

Rezza Vs Zia..hmm I would go for Zia based on his current form.He can hit the balls far distance. Plus, he is bowling wicket to wicket which is rare in current bd team. I would play him during power play irrespective of batting order. Bd never played gamble to do something extra. I also think Reza's bowling is good special on D eath overs. Nevertheless, Zia should be in..lets see howz our super fit players go on at WCT20.
