I'm still new to cricket

Hello all, I am not a big fan of cricket but I'll be interested in understanding how the game is read. All I know is just the bowling and the runs made. Maybe someone could help me out.

Play cricket with anyone who plays cricket even amateur level is good enough.
Ask him to through you a cricket ball softly while you bat. Now hit that ball as hard as you can, once you connect well you are on your way to learn about cricket with lots of passion.
The satisfaction of hitting a cricket ball sweetly is so immense it’s hard to explain.
