Our first series win!
We did it! Our first series win! I know its embarrassing drawing against a weakened Zim side but we have to start somewhere! Well done Nafis (he'll get a car right), nice work Rajin and bravo Enamul!

Rome is not build in a day !!!
We have a start and for this draw we would get 6 points in the ICC test ranking. If we would have lost would get only 3 points. Just for record, we would get 8 points for a win.
Better look for the One dayers...
Go Bangladesh.

Bangladesh did well, but had a chance of making history by winning with a record 4th innings total. I agree with the cricinfo reporter that it was a disappointing end to a great series.
Anyways..... "bhhaap"!
(PS: Don't ask...)

They traded the possibility of a great victory for a tame draw.
This draw = Good for hardcore BD fans, Bad for people who're more interested in good cricket than being a die-hard fan.

Congratulations on the first test series win. For a change, it was BD who set quite a few records. More than that, it was the experience of success and dictating terms to the opposition that they will treasure more. I hope this is the stepping stone for their future successes.

CONGRATS to the whole team...!!
and to Spitfire_x86:
....for heaven's sake stop blaming the team for not being able to do what has been done only 5 times in 128 years history of test-cricket!!!(i.e. chasing 350+ in 4th innings and still winning)... we got 'Crackinfo' and 'Arun-Lal' for doing the 'blaming' job!
..... cheer up and take a break!!... it has been 5 tensed days for everyone...
Best of luck to everybody too!

I am glad that we won the series. The basic approach of going defensive was also OK with me. We needed to take care of the “statistics” first. We had our first test win and now the first test series win. These were needed to get up on the points table. Otherwise, we would keep on hearing the oft-repeated lines “ a team that is yet to win a test, or a team that drew 2 matches because of rain . . “ and so on.
However, what was surprising was the ultra defensive mode that we went into. I guess Whatmore knows the team much better than we do, and he was not willing to take any chance. Our batting has faltered far too often in the past. As a matter of fact, we still lost a few quick wickets in the middle, so the defensive approach possibly saved us from losing the match. Surely, there was also a chance that we could have also won it had we scored in a normal fashion. But in trying to do so there was the real risk of losing it. Let us be more aggressive later on, now that we have learnt to win a few things. The fact that we were behind Zimbabawe - for most of this test - but could finally avoid the defeat by sheer determination is in itself a good sign.
Let us not lose sight of the fact that our batting is still vulnerable. This Zimbabwe side surely has the weakest bowling attack among all test playing nations. So we should keep our achievements in perspective. Our victory against Zimbabwe will do us no harm as long as we know that we will need greater effort to win a test against other nations. There are many positives that we can take from the test series. Let’s relish that for a while, before the pajama version of the sport catches up in a few days.
So, Congratulations, Bashar and the team and a big one to Whatmore!

I can see why CricInfo reporters blame BD, they don't care for BD, they simply want a crunch time.
I don't understand why some of the BD fans would do the same, are they lost enough to know the true standard of BD cricket. Drawing this match was more than expected, almost a miracle. Why we did not go for a win? Because, in sports and life, you sometimes have to make a calculative move, going for excitement is not the smart way.
BD played smarly and won the series. This should be praised by every fan. Had BD gone for the win and lost the match, we would all be cursing the hell out of them, as they lost the golden opportunity to make the first series win. Thank them and thank Allah, they did not do so.
So relax, appreciate this rare series win, and celebrate.
