No team in this WC is likely to win 5 matches in a row, prolly not even India.

No matter what combination you pick God will outdo you every single time. Substitute Nature for your preferred intelligence that governs this universe.

It's funny how you look back and find that the expected reality vastly differs from the present one. Who knew rain would play such a spoilsport right?

Man proposes...

so BD moves to #5 now. The NRR should also improve although I am not sure if it will move into positive territory. a very timely win nonetheless.

realistically speaking, how many more matches do we need to win to make it to semi?

The equation basically now is this:

Win vs Australia , Pakistan and Afghanistan we will be through if Australia don't win 2 out 3 vs ENG/SA/NZ (It will be tough for them). OR if NZ messes up and win only one of their remaining games vs Aus/ENG/SA/Pak.

Win vs Aus, India, Afg, Pak
We will be through regardless of what happens elsewhere.

Note- This is from my very brief analysis of the tournament, I could be wrong as well but I think this is correct.

^ win vs aus and india is extremly tough. Even with our best performance. Possible but tough. Win vs AFG/PAk very possible if no brainfart moment occurs.

I just added the third scenario that is if NZ messes up and wins only one of their remaining games vs Aus/ENG/SA/Pak.

In all of these ways we MUST beat ONE of Australia or India for sure

Australia barely won vs WI and Pakistan we must believe we can turn them over . NZ seemed more formidable to me. Game on against them 🔥

Meh. As said before the tourney, we can easily beat this Australian side given we carefully deal with starc. They are nothing special.

I'm more wary of India than Aus.

India has always had our number in recent years and we always struggle against their bowlers for whatever reason.

I wish we played Afg at the start. Afgans at that time would be overconfident and arrogant af coming in the WC just beating PAK in warm up. Overconfident Afg is really easy to beat. just see 2014 T20 WC and 2015 WC.

But now after receiving 5 thumping in this WC Afg will be determined to do well in this world cup and their head will be in the game not it the sky

We need to be very careful and professional

My wish of blockbuster world cup has been met. But on the flip side, my appetite has just been whet having tasted blood. Now all or nothing. Nothing will satiate.

Quite confident Bangladesh would beat Pakistan, 50-50 against India. But Australia is difficult.

India were lucky against Australia.

Actually fans in India are wary of Bangladesh, they respect the team. Scenario was different 15 years ago. I think 2007 WC was game changer.

Bangladesh needs to be careful with Afghanistan, not to dismiss them. Afg team trains in India, they must be hurting after the bad performances especially Rashid Khan.

Far more likely to beat Australia than India.

That Indian lineup is almost flawless other than 1 or 2 unconvincing middle-order batsmen. Australia's trundler army minus Starc and Cummins should honestly get a hiding from our in-form batting. Our bowling is likely a different story lololol.

I think NZ was lucky to get a point against India, match washed out. Can't say India would have won with certainty, but only 4 months ago NZ were thrashed at home ground by India. All these points matter when it comes to semis.

Pakistan is another mercurial team. On current form, Bangladesh should beat Pak. But you never know with Pak, highly unpredictable. Teams like India, Bangladesh, Australia are more predictable, you know what you will get. Pak can either play at a different level or crash.
