Call of Razzak is a bit surprising. His domestic record is good but he never converted those in tests.

why have you got marshall all the way down there at 8? if we are going to play a batsman at 8 may as well be riyad...he averages over 40 in that position...

Ok to play Riyad in the practice match, he really has nothing to hide. I mean, ability to block full tosses hardly qualifies as a super power.
Shak should be fine too as long as he doesn't bowl.

My XI:
1. Tamim
2. Anamul
3. Naeem
4. Mominul
5. Shakib
6. Rahim
7. Nasir
8. Razzak
9. Shohag
10. Al Amin
11. Robiul
That's a pretty iffy line up between #'s 2 and 4, but it might be the best we have. Marshall doesn't get the nod yet. Also, no point playing an 8th batsman if the top 7 flop. Shohag's form hasn't been anything to write novels about, but he offers variation. Razzak has been in form, so we'll see if he's really changed his bowling or is still getting wickets off flat zero-turners in the NCL. Riyad sits out, he has nothing to offer in Tests (or T20s).
But of course, this isn't the team the management will play.

That's the ideal XI but we'll most likely see the performers from the practice match play in the 1st Test. With this lineup, we should have a good chance at winning the 1st match.

Isam said that most likely Riyad will bat at #8 and Razzak is there just as a backup and is unlikely to play. Al-Amin is also unlikely to play as the 1st choice pacers will most likely be Rubel and Robiul. Anamul will open with Tamim. Naeem, Marshall, and Mominul are fighting it out for the #3 and 4 spot s.
Don't like the fact that they want to play 8 batsmen. Thats just putting too much pressure on Shakib being the 4th bowler. Riyad will most likely bowl a lot as well and will share the load. I'd rather have Razzak as it would give us a more attacking look

I hope you really didn't think they were literally asking for a fight between you and Shane. But it won't be bad after all. Just a simple wrestling match won't be too bad

I don't know, Ian seems to have more of a boxer physique.

With Nasir, Riyadh, Naeem and Mominul likely to make the cut we have plenty of spin option. I'd drop Shohag, who has been off-color for months and bring in Al-Amin. We have to start having 3 pacers for home tests to get some variety of combinations.

Riyad's been in poor form and if we're going in with 8 batsmen, then I think Marshall deserves his chance ahead of Riyad. I'd prefer to have 5 bowlers, but unfortunately selectors have chosen Razzak ahead of Enamul. I doubt Razzak would even take a wicket, so I'd prefer to have a batsman instead.

Please, no mominul fgs. His batting is an eyesore and I would not even mind if Reza is taken in place of him (And I really hate reza)
Mominul is simply not upto the mark for international cricket at the moment. Let him play more DPL

sometimes test cricket is a bit different. Not always you need to be a very good timer or exquisite technique to become successful. Here building up an innings and patience is very important. Thats why some Batsman like Mominul,Naeem,Chanderpal, Laxman get success.

Dont kknow about momin because he has been very rusty and does not seem to have the mindset to play long innings.
Suprised by the way Naeem completely changed his approach to get suited in the test format. I think others should follow him, especially Jahurul and Nafees. If you bat for 200+ balls, you will have scored enough runs by then to take the pressure off your mind and your team will be in a better position. Naeem however will struggle against quality pacers in seam friendly wickets due to his technique though. Sadly, we dont have a single batsman who has both the mentality and technical ability to score big runs. Mushy is the closest to becoming one, all others are far behind.
Nafees in his early days was a prime example of a batsman who knew how to play big innings. Sadly, never worked on his ability to tackle seamers leading to his downfall

Mominul averages 41.60 in Test cricket. Since when did Bangladesh have the luxury of dropping batsman with 40+ averages?

For what it's worth, I think Jahurul has the basic ingredients to make a decent test batsman. I was impressed with how he has started to build his innings recently. His tendency to give it away is just inexperience and I hope he gets over it soon by playing long innings in 4 day cricket...
