Default What happened to Dav Whatmore\'s being a special Test Match Summarizer for BBC?

What happened to Dav Whatmore's being a special Test Match Summarizer for BBC?

I've been searching the BBC, but didn't see a clue of Dav's being Test match summariser. Where is it?

I don't know if I should call him "summarizer" or "commentator". I think "commentator" is more appropiate, and that Indian newspaper was right.

I was listening to BBC commentary today and heard Dev as commentator. He was doing commentary inside live coverage, not "summarizing after end of day's play" like he claimed/we thought.

You were listening to BBC radio?

I think I saw Dav Whatmore (all the time) to just sit & see how Bangladesh is performing sitting on that famous Lord's dressing room?

I didn't listen radio all the time, I listened to it mostly when BD was batting. I think Dav came around the time when Nafees got out and was talking with other commentator about Bashar's batting (while Bashar was batting). He was there for a while...like a usual 2nd specialist commentator. I didn't hear him in rest of the time though.

I heard him on the radio on BBC Test match special during the match. I don't know how often he was on but he was doing it from the pavilion perhaps from the balcony! He certainly wasn't away from the players with the commentators in the broadcasting box.

The match itself became a summarized version,, no need for his payrole, I suppose

Off topic post:

How is Andrew Millar feeling now? Poor guy.....I feel sorry for him. I hope his colleagues aren't ridiculing him too hard for supporting a bunch of losers like us.

He didn't write today's verdict at Cricinfo. Steven Lynch rightfully lynched us.

Good Point Spitfire... I feel bad for Andrew Miller too. He has been writing so many nice articles about Bangladesh. Anyways, "Andrew, we always appreciate your articles!"

I think Whatmore occasionally gave some feedback to the BBC commentary team over the walkie talkie, or some other communication device. That is all.
