lose or win...what this practice match has def. shown is that THIS IS NOT WI!!! do not play 4 spinners and 2 pacers... we should at least play 3 pacers with three allrounder spinners

As for the current series Zimbabwe is favourite....they beat us in Bangladesh twice this year already....and they will definitly be a very tough oponoent to beat in their homeground...i would say we may loose this series by 1-4 or 2-3.....and if we manage to win the seris...it will be tight...may be 3-2....hopefully after the series BD fans will probably get the much clearer picture of the strenght and depth of our national team
|
a) we won 4-1
b) could have 5-0 had management not benched junaid for the 3rd ODI for unknown reasons
c) depth of national team was decent given that #1 and #3 pacers missed all 5 games, #4 pacer missed 2-3 matches, #5 pacer didn't even make the squad, and #6 pacer ripped through the top order and uprotted stumps twice in the one match he got. batting depth remains a worry, although this series was the first were 4 different batsmen scored big runs, with centuries each from tamim, ash, and sakib. rahim had 98 - which is a de facto century, IMO, and rock scored 78 which is a solid score as well.

This is a perfect example of how practice matches just dont mean ****..look at how the series ended up? Also Mridul with the usual negative attitude towards BD..losing 1-4 or 2-3? Maybe winning 3-2 very tightly? The matches that we won were not even closely..we outplayed them badly..BD is really not that bad of a team buddy..we might not be a top 8 side but we are definitely ahead of Zimbabwe and Ireland..

and BD loses a practice game, wehre half of the main players didnt play, they just landed there last night, and we call it coming back to what you call 'reality'

Huh? "Indifferent" means that you don't care either way, apathetic, neither hostile nor friendly. What do you mean?

As I always say practice match means fix your weakness, not showing your strength.

I don't think the team did intentionally poor in that match, they were still suffering from jet lag. The day before the match, many players did not have clothes to change to, as their luggage were missing. They could not take shower either as the hotel they were staying at did not have running water that day.
