Default Have to change game

After watching today's match of Kenya vs Australia, it is quite clear that we have to change our game completely, otherwise - (finger down - Tehsin, can you place the hand down icon in the right side where the 8 heads are?).

I can suggest a few things:

1) If a specialist batsman scores a fifty , he has to score that in 60 balls or at most around 65 balls.

2) If a specialist bowler bowls full 10 overs, then he has to concede 20 runs or at most 35 runs. And if he takes 3 wickets, then he can concede at most 45 runs.

3) If a fielder drops an easy catch, or misfields too much in a game by giving away at least 10 runs all by himself, then he is out of the next match.

4) If a player doesn't do these things, then he will be considered to be a player who is playing only for himself. And playing for oneself might have been the trend for all the players in the past, but from now on, they just can't do that.

5) Everybody has to try to play for a win. And that should be starting from this ICC Championship trophy. Because, if they don't, then they can't try to play for a win only in 2 games in the world cup and win - it just isn't as easy as that.

They're gonna have to try to win first, and learn their mistakes - and unless anybody tries to win, then their mistakes will not be identified.

And if mistakes are not identified early, then there is no time to correct those mistakes.

The result? Twelve year old kids will replace Javed Omars and Al Shahriars after the world cup 2003.

Default NEVER

WE WILL NEVER BE ABLE (well, not until our next crop of players come in and we get a couple more 'mature' and 'experienced' Masri's and 'spinning' Moni's in the team) TO TAKE AUSTRALIA to the 50th over. :et's not forget the task of scoring past 200.

Now, if Waugh was there, this match would have been over within 60 overs max. He has too much pride to lower Australia to this standards.

KUDOS TO KENYA. AMAZING STUFF.

Now, to BURST some bubbles. READ the next post please.

You look at the score and you go WHOA, how did Kenya stretch Australia to the 50th over. Simple, look at the 'batsmen' scoring those runs.

Heyden and Martyn did not bat. Ponting did not play. Who batted ? Australia was giving the rookies a shot with Maher and Watson (no TEST caps yet even though both are potent players) playing their 11th/12th ODIs. Symonds has only 2 fifties in 48 ODIs because he is mostly a bowler. Warne and Lee joined in the action and they are 'bowlers'. The Kenyan's have always been BRAVE and they took full advantage of these opportunity. HOpe we get the same opportunity against Australia and we have the smarts to use it.

Look at it this way, if Australia sends in Lee and warne to bat, all Pilot has to make sure is that we keep 'em in the middle (unless they go for retired hurt) as long as possible. That way, we can bog the Aussies down (in our dreams, we all know that both will score fifties against us) long enough to keep their score within 250.

JP Maher c Tikolo b Odoyo 16 22 18 3 0
*+AC Gilchrist c sub (JO Angara) b CO Obuya 41 110 81 3 1
MG Bevan c DO Obuya b Odoyo 0 9 8 0 0
SR Watson not out 77 171 113 4 2
A Symonds run out (CO Obuya) 43 66 59 4 0
SK Warne run out (Ongondo) 15 19 14 1 0
B Lee not out 6 8 4 0 1
Extras (lb 1, w 3, nb 3) 7
Total (5 wickets, 49.1 overs) 205

Default Sorry

You can say that I'm a bit jealous that - how come Kenya does it but we can't (specially when WE ARE BETTER then them) ? So, ignore the posts if you don't like bickering or belittling other's fortunes (as far as BD or Knya is concerned, playing Australia to the last over is SUCCESS).

Tehsin you just can't accept the fact KENYA mutch mature team than our current BD team. IF BD TEAM DON'T IMPROVE THEIR PERFORMENCE THEY WILL LOOSE TO KENYA AT WC.

ON regard of Australia fielded second string team against Kenya.

Srilanka 2nd test against BD ,half of their player was inexperience, look how badly we lost?

Our team management also put four debutants in that second test match. So, it was a battle of inexperience between and inexperience.

Besides, it was a test match, not a one day match. And a one day match can set aside the huge differences between two sides on any given day provided that the weaker team plays better than the stronger team on that day.

Default Aus vs Kenya

I have always said that mentally, KENYA is much MATURE then Bangladesh. ALWAYS.

Australia didn't field a second string team against BD, they sent in their bowlers to bat when they had regular batsmen, there is a big difference. An inexperienced (ie, non Test and ODI) batsmen can provide much more then a bowler, don't you think ?

Look at Azam Iqbal (opener) and Manju. Who would you rather bat (not that it makes much difference in terms of Bangladesh) again a team like Malaysia or Maldives ?
