Bangla Folk Tales
Does anyone here have pointers Bangla folk tales online? Bangla or English - it does not matter. I am doing a little meet Bangladesh show for my daughter's first grade class and was planning to provide each of her classmates a Bangla fairy tale book. My plan is to take one classic story, illustrate it and then print out a copy for the kids to take home.
Also, looking for suggestions on age appropriate folk tales. Some of the stories I recall are rather gory - remember how the tuntuni story ended?
Thanks

Interesting project! I think "thakurmar Jhuli" is a good point to start. Also one of my favourite is "Khirer Putul" by Abonindranath Thakur. I think these would fit into your 1st grade appropriateness. If you are looking for a Bangla copy, the best approach is to get it from Dhaka unless one of the online bookstores can oblige( Ihave never tried them myself)
I am not sure if you can find an English version of these. If you find any English version please keep me posted. I would like to know.
Thanks.

Say - thanks a bunch.. But, I left it a little bit too late... I have to do it this Friday. If you, or anyone else, can mail me or type in here the story in brief, I can jazz it up and add some illustrations. Once done, I will make the PDF available for anyone else to use.

And I find "Buro Aangla" by the same author is unparallel in Bangla shishu shahitto.
