Default We lost to BD U-19 cuz the dog ate my guard!

http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/u19-...ry/233574.html

Story on England U-19 side. How they explain the 11-0 thrashing by BD? Well, we had been relaxing and they weren't. Their pitches were different, etc. etc. Anything but 'fessing up "you know, we lost becuase they were pretty darn good".

At least we know one thing. The English tradition of whinging every time they lose in the subcontinent is in safe hands with these bunch of up-and-coming Englishmen

BTW, for those not familiar with English idioms, my headline is a word play on that age old excuse "miss, I promise I did my homework but the dog ate it". I have been accused of being overly idiomatic so I thought I'd explain - so there Z!!!!

Well.. they got 13 legitimate ()explanations for the 11-0 drubbing.

1.We underestimated them both a little bit," --we always thought we had a chance of beating,

2.but couldn't get in the winning rhythm(how the heck u get the winning rhythm if the much stronger opposition pummel & tharsh u all the time ) - a few times we should have finished them off."

3."It definitely wasn't expected," : "We went out there having had a three-month break from outdoor cricket, which they hadn't had.

4.We also had to adjust to getting up at half-six for a match starting at quarter to eight."

The list goes on...

5. "A change of team," adds Ali, "a lot of new players.

6.It spun a lot

7.and was hot.

8.We had injuries

9.and illnesses

10.- a lot of bad luck.

11.The pitches in Bangladesh are a lot different to English conditions( oops! they didn't know that bangladeshi pitch is different )

12.they (bangladeshies)had a lot more exposure to spin .

13. we learnt more by losing every game rather than winning. (--may be it was a much needed boost for their learning curve, hence they did it for the sake of Learning)

@ the end of the day their gain was ...Everyone's learnt how to live better as a team, & how to eat better."

Moeen ali is waiting to get bangladesh in the final -"We will definitely win it and play either Bangladesh or India in the final."

Well ....."Nachte na janle Utan Baka"

aar "Bat/ball korte na Parle Pitch Baka" thats the English Teams Slogan.

They dont have any respect for opposition..not only their U-19....Even in the Main Adult team. Their media their brodcasting setelites..all are disrespectful. And I think If some one is not showing the respect to other..Their is nothing wrong calling them what they are. (e.g a dog cant be a cat, and there is nothing wrong calling a dog is dog) .

So never mind them....They are just jelous and Feeling shame that...they lost all the matches they playes against BD. the only way they can Escape is their "mouth" not a Mouth but "BIG MOUTH".

We shell Focus on our own..Not the BS that comes out From a "Big Mouth" .

(( was that dis-respectfull Enough for Eng ? !! )) I hope so !

I didn’t get chance to read link in this thread but by reading bits and pieces from the posts, it appears to me that there was something else as well inside the guard eaten by the dog.

has she eaten up the balls as well?

I think they were in a good form before coming here but I'm not sure. But one thig is sure that they beat us in their home soil. So, one of their excuse - taking our boys lightly - can be taken into account.

What I'm worried about is our boys might involve into this sort of situation.

you guys miss this line. it is a big recognition for us. Given that all team thinks they gonna play in the final, he also recognizes that the two team most likely to play in the final are bangladesh and india.

Wins like these will put us in the media very often than before. There is no short cut way of having success.

I would not be that much concern about their point of view at present.Let us play and perform in the U-19 world cup than we will have our share.

Such a childish statement, they will meet either Pakistan or us in the QF and that will be end of the road for them. Ali said something about thrashing Lanka at home, well that happened because their stupid coach was still playing older players like Ben Harmison in the team on that occassion last August, even though he knew that they would not be eligible to play in the YWC.

I don't think Moeen had breakfast that day, when he was making that childish remark. Afterall breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I think he made such a statement for the sake of his captaincy, so that the people don't loose confidence in him.

After a 11-0 tour with world cup around similar surroundings it is hard not to look at the dark side and point fingers. If they say balantly that "the teams were stronger than us" and the prospect of facing them again within two months would be equal to suicide. Hense all these excuses are to be positive (from their standpoint) while visiting SL. But I am afraid the result may not be different this time also.
