And why does this need to be thread? Century in local league; is 10 runs in international match.

I differ in opinion. This is a just thread. We need bashar in our test 11. I dont care who else scores in the ncl. Because I wanna know if bashar is inform, it doesnt matter who else is inform. Bashar is a man who proved his worth. The other guys, we dont know them,so no gurantees that they are capable of test cricket. But with bashar there is a gurantee coz again, he proved many a times if he is capable of test cricket or not. And the talk about bashar's age & reflex &blablabla..these are all bullshit. Bashar is just 37. Gavaskar played well over 40, so did desmond haynes, so did viv richards, so did imran, boycott, haughton, clive loyd, i can go on and on and on! All of them played test well over 40. Bashar is a lot young in comparison to them. So Bashar is too old- this is a lame & foolish argument. Let the selectors pick him for the 15man squad for englandtour and we'll see how siddons deny him..

I don't think it's dumb thread. Bashar needs to be considered for the test team.

We already have another thread created by Shujan for this NCL about Bashar's stat only.
+++
For Shujan and others,
Looks like http://www.banglacricket.com/alochon...ad.php?t=32171
"Bashar is getting runs in NCL"
created by "Shujan" on Jan 29, which is in the first page of the forum as well, would be the right place to post these stats.
I request a merge. It is not about dumb or something else. It is keeping things tidy!! Doesn't matter if there are 100 threads for Bashar to come back to intl side. That wouldn't make a difference if the selectors thinks otherwise.

Like the urban way of mocking Rok's capability.

I know for fact Jamie wont even look at those stats with any interest because he does not want to build his team around dead wood, as he already mentioned when he let go of habla in the first place.

That's the reason Bashar won't be in the team. Otherwise ...

I do not know what will future look like. I just want to see some win now.Bashar is a winner.
Can India drop Dravid and Tendulkar just to build for the future? You have 11 players in the team. Keeping one or two player old does not hurt future!

We need to be proud of our league- if it is sub par then FIX it!!
well done Habibul Bashar, despite the mediocre level of local league, a consistent performance from a batter with international experience deserves some attention. Other wise, what is the litmus test for picking test squads- a coach's whim?

It seems the ex-national players are living in a land where nobody really cares about them. I am not talking about Rafique or Pilot, ther already took farewell or forced so from BCB. Among the old horses like JOB, Rajin, Bashar , SN - Bashar possess that 30+ dream avg. in test and really in good form. Hope he sustains to this form for a while.

Maybe you guys need to quit being such assholes. The OP just wanted to show that Bashar is progressing well and may be deserving of a callback. He is still the best Test batsmen BD has ever produced and now that he has found form, why not bring him back?

Absolutely bro..spot on! He is undoubtebly the best bd produced, the highest run scorer with 30+ avg. If needed siddons should be pressed hard to force him to play our best...

Well, I don't want to get too excited with a centry esp. this season when the pitches seem to be tailor-made for batting, but if Bashar manages to end up among the top 2-3 run getters of the NCL with the kind of stats that guys like Farhad Hossain and Faisal Hossain are boasting, I would definitely want to see him in the test line up.
Yes, I know we are building for the future and getting Bashar back would only be a stopgap solution, but we are also saying that we are sticking with Ash only because we don't have any other option! There's clearly 2 positions up for grabs in the test batting line up: that of Ash & Rok and I see no problem in getting Bashar to fill in one of those for a year or two - form permitting - while guys such as Farhad, Shuvagoto, SN and Rok himself hon their skills at the domestic, Academy and A-team levels.

Nasif,
Remember, Mahmadullah earned his callup with 4 tons late in the season in the local first-class comp, and he's now a very solid part of the team. If Bashar keeps getting runs, pick him against England.
