But we have to raise the bar if we are going to become as good as Australia or England. Just because the current day national players didn't do it when they were sixteen doesn't mean the current day sixteen year olds shouldn't.

But they have to play against Englash, Australia or India. So the skill set and temperament must be measured on their standard. Nothing to be over excited with these kinda scores. We have seen a lot of them in the U19 level in the past. Most of them are lost now.

One good tour and he's gonna replace Mushfiq? How's this fair to this boy that we expect him to waltz into test arena and perform better than (ATM) our best batsman?

Sometimes I'm glad the fans don't do the selection.

I don't think anyone here wants him to replace Mushy (well, except for cricadda, lol). Personally, I don't think he even deserves a thread of his own. Definitely not yet.

What is with so many of our members fascination for the next big thing? No more talk of teenagers. Play the present bunch with ICL pool to provide depth.

Nah this is a bit too much. With couple of 30s and couple of half century doesn't deserve a thread in BC. I've seen his batting today there is nothing extraordinary. But yes I'm impressed with his keeping. He is very agile and a chatter box behind the stump. I like his attitude.

Thanks wiseshah for creating this thread. Please don't get discouraged by some of the comments here. In my opinion, this is what we are missing in this discussion board i.e. more discussion about our prospects ( from u-15 to u-17 to u-19 to local league to team A, etc).

Rather what we see is thousands of new threads about Ashraful and co. and all those meaning less polls.

Nobody is saying these prospect will replace any of our national player within a year or so. But as a BD cricket fan, I would like to know more about our poterntial prospects and get more familiar and track their progress.

Most of them will be lost, and thats ok with me. But few of them will climb the ladder and join the national team one day. And knowing them further in advance and following them all the way give me more pleasure.

And also its a token recognition to these prospocts when they are doing well in their level.

So please ignore some of the negative comments and share info about our prospect in future.

Thanks for the clip Mohammed bhai.

Today's match prolly was not the best one to judge Anamaul as a keeper. He struggled when big turners came in, but I doubt our boys produce such big turners on regular days, so can't blame the boy for not being used to those deliveries.

have known of him for a little while, he's always a name i look for on these scorecards, so far he's been more consistent than most but he's still not scoring the type of runs a prolific age group indian or aussie would score. someone to keep an eye on though. majumder and the 2 hasan's have been disappointing though

As mamu said, we should pay attention to our kids. So the thread is OK. But some people just can't remain in perspective. Talents should be nurtured to produce talented and smart players. We hot enough talented bekubs.

Talking about pipe-line and all is very fine and good but what I have observed over the years is that those sort of discussions quickly devolve into "so-and-so" sux, so let us replace him with "this new player".

One doesn't have to look too far to validate this statement. Infact, we fans are just as hot-headed and as repitative as our players. No point blaming them if we bear the same fault.

BTW, Anamul can compete Mushfiq well with continuous chirping, although his voice is not as annoying as Mushfiq's

I remember he was in the under 19s team aged 14. I didn't realise he's exactly a year younger than me. He looks a good player off his pads.

he has still long miles to go.i dont want to compare him with mushy, dhiman, sahagir or even mithun ali, I think this is his first tour, he is performing better than star under 19 player like amit mazumder, saikat ali. so i thought it will be nice to keep an eye on some future talent. Only time will say, if he will stay or not. But i think in todays win , he had a great contribution and he might be a good candidate for next under 19 team. But he is 16, still enough time to develop his skill. i hope BCB will not over look him

we have to make future under 19 team and though we dont have enough good keeper, so he is definitely a bright prospect.

Can't see anything wrong with this thread at all to be honest.

It's certainly added another name for me to look for in future domestic league scorecards and helped me fill in some blanks about this present U/19s team.

And really, from what I can see, there's about 25 posters in this thread warning us all about the dangers of expecting too much/promoting him too early and maybe one who's actually guilty of doing either of those things.
