lack of foot movement != slogging
if that what you are implying. Tamim relies on pure timing. Not a slogger.

'I'm a hitter by nature'
Daily star report

Ziaur Rahman was not disappointed at having missed the world record of 16 sixes in a first-class innings, but was instead happy that he could make his first hundred courtesy of valuable support from two tailenders.

“I have no regrets about missing the world record; rather I'm happy with my first hundred which was possible because of the support I got from the two tailenders,” said Zia, who was not aware of the world record before the reporters informed him after the day's play.

“I always hit the ball hard if I get it in my zone and I have the confidence that I can clear it if I hit hard. The power I have is a gift but I feel that you have to have the confidence also -- no way you can be in two minds when you want to hit the ball hard,” he added, saying that the wicket and Kookaburra ball helped him to smash 15 sixes and seven fours during his unbeaten 118-ball 152.

When asked about the secret behind his strength and whether the source was a special diet, Zia said: “There is no secret. I'm a normal man and I always take normal food. Actually I am a natural hitter.”

His attitude matches with a genuine hard-hitter aka. Polard.

Pollard is ordinary. Hopefully, Ziaur will surpass him.

You mean batting-wise, oh yes. What about the attitude rendered in the interview posted above?

He could be a good pick in the lower order in ODIs at home. God save him overseas.

let's see how consistent he is, the fact that he smashed all those 6s is impressive but i'll have to see to believe that he's still no more than a slogger. the quality of pace bowling in BD domestic and international level is far apart and someone said he got all of his 6s off spinners, might say a lot about his batting versus pace bowling if he's getting all his 6s off spinners perhaps he's not that great even against substandard pacers.

if he proves his consistency by getting these tons a lot more often then i might start believing that he's more than someone who just see's the ball and hits as hard as he can but unless he's improved i really don't want to see him in the national team.

congrats on the century, i hope there are many more, i really would like him to turnout to be a good pacer prospect for BD.

Almost like "manpotro" that you are asked to write in middle school grammar classes in Bangla medium.
We should make it curved into a crest, frame and hand it over to him.

Whats up with his fielding? Also, he needs to stop trying to whack every single ball at midwicket boundary. It's not haram to score runs on the off side...

Won't last long if he doesn't use his head

he's a bits n pieces player trying to become a batsman who can bowl a bit. i don't want to get into an argument about his bowling ability, he might have bowling ability but it isn't used enough due to previous injuries so really imo it's not a point of discussion imo, unfortunate for him and maybe BD but that's just how it is. he has massive issues to work on with his batting. there are soo many more batsmen in BD that have greater batting talent than him. he's strong, i'll give him that and i'll even admit that not many BD batsmen have the sort of power he possesses, but that doesn't make him a great batsman and an auto pick for the national team. he has a plus point to his name for power but there are soo many other things he needs to work on to be a long term success internationally. he needs to have more scoring area's off quality bowling, he needs to be able to bat in different gears a bit better, he needs to be able to score singles if he can't hit a boundary off the ball. one of my major issues with zia is the amount of balls he wastes when he simply doesn't connect with the ball because he's trying to hit it out of the park. i don't care if he still ends with a great strike rate, not connecting with the ball means you're missing out on runs, so basically he could make a lot more runs than he does by connecting a bit more often and that's an area he really needs to work on imo.

Shabbir is a much better prospect then him. Shabbir might not be blessed with strength and muscle but he can clean hit the ball. Ziaur can barely time the ball so its not effective by any means.

Does anyone know where I can watch Zia's bowling highlights? Could only find clips of his batting in youtube.

What do you want to know about his bowling? He bowls around 120-125, pretty much wicket to wicket. Mushfiq stands up to the stumps which makes it a little tough for batsmen to dance down the track.

I think he is underused. He can easily bowl 4-5 overs without giving away too many runs.
