Default Check this out: BD Cricket, on the verge of extinction

Guyz, I just read an article on a cricket website recently about BD cricket, just read it:

Bangladesh team has played very poorly this year, failing to manage a single win in any format of the game. The 22 year old captain, Shakib Al Hasan had led the team so far while Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was recovering from injury. Due to horrible performances and disunity in the team, Bangladesh has lost every single match with only one turning out be a close one. The coach Jamie Siddons and captain Shakib has faced a lot of criticism due to the team's poor performance.

Today, England scored 373 just for the loss of 3 wickets with captain Alaister Cook unbeated on 158. Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan shocked everyone when he decided to bowl first on a pitch that was to offer more to batsmen than the bowler. It suprised everyone and many people thought that he had some idea, which others did not know. However, Shakib did not have any trick up his sleeves at all, as it seemed, and his decision turned out to be very. A conclusion could be made that the team had lost before the match had even started. Shakib has been guilty of spoiling the team's chances of winning before the match had started, before as well. He has lost most of the tosses and when he wins, he takes suprising but rather shocking decisions. One example was in the tri series and the beginning of the year, when Bangladesh won the toss against India. Suprising, Shakib decided to bat first, despite knowing that his army of spinners would have to face dew when bowling. At one stage, it looked almost that Bangladesh would win, but finally they lost by 6 wickets.

Another problem with Bangladesh recently, is their fielding. The energy the team had once possesed in the field, has simply vanished. Most of the fielders are giving away runs and dropping catches, simply spoiling the match for the team. One of the main culprit would be the 21 year old wicket keeper, Mushfiqur Rahim. He was very poor when the spinners were in operation, dropping many catches as well as missing quite a few stumpings. The average age of the team might be between 22 to 23, but the players are quite experienced.

The team's bowling attack had detoriated drastically ever since 2008. Strike paceman Mashrafe was unable to play international cricket for a long time due to injury. On the other hand, one of Bangladesh's greatest left arm spinner MD. Rafique retired. The fast bowlers in the team lack some basic skills. There line and lenght, especially during the slog overs are very inaccurate. The team depend a lot on left arm spin, which has lost its sharpness over the year, while top class spinners like Abdur Razzak and Enamul Haque had their bowling action changed, and looked more ineffective.

The team has also tried a lot of opening pairs in the last few years. Tamim Iqbal has cemented his position into the team as opener. The team also had a opener of good quality opener named Shariar Nafees who has scored 4 centuries in his career. He seems to play spin much better than pace. His problem is with his reflex when facing the fast bowlers. The team's top order faces a lot of uncertainity, with 22 year old Raqibul Hasan retiring from cricket due to his omission from recent matches and also from the probables for the T20 World Cup to be held in West Indies this year.

The teams has gone through bad time and needs to come out of failure. Their test status is in danger, having considered that they have won only three test matches. If this bad time continues, Bangladesh will lose test status and cricket in Bangladesh will head for the worst.

Man, who wrote this article anyway. I really think BD CRICKET IS NEAR DEATH. We need to win. Common BD Bolod Boys, shows that the article has sometings missing, and that is that we are the best.

BD cricket wont ever be verge of extinction....we may lose test status, we even may lose ODI status, but we bengali will still play cricket till the end. coz we bengali have the immense passion for the game and which ICC also knws very well and i guess this (passion) the only thing is making ICC to think hundred times before taking any decision against Bangladesh.

I don't understand, what is the problem if a team lose all the time? Cricket is so popular in Bangladesh and well supported financially. When Australia used to win every match, they did not decide to cancel all the tours with them based on whats the point playing if we know they will win. Now we have the opposite here, ok so all the matches Bangladesh plays with better teams, they lose, so what, these games are generating money, TV still shows them all over the world and make profit. People all over the world watch these matches. All these idiots should just wake up and smell the coffee, cricket is a game of passion, the fun is in every ball, wicket, four, six, regardless of the result.

Let us be and one day, we will become number 1.

Seriously, how does only an article make you think we're near verge of extinction or something? Check out recent results of WI and Pak, and we're doing no worse.

what i think we are losing but not losing badly.

just think how many times we scored good ODI scores..... thats am improvement. now u may say that with batting powerplays in ODI's the average run has increased in ODI. BUT, BUT, BUT BD STILL HAS NOT STARTED TO USE THE BATTING POWERPLAY EFFECTIVELY. so all this scores are actually without the help of powerplay. so when we use the powerplay we will have better scores.

also we have scored good scores in tests too than before. which is another improvement there is no powerplay in tests.

our bowling is disappointment specially pacers. we have got two speedstars who are very waywayd and gives a lot of runs. also our old faithful of mashrafe, rasel, shahadat are injured or out of form.
also some bad umpiring moments.

well we have good performance on our side that will keep our test status intact. how many other bad days we had in test cricket this year like today ?????

If you are in North America, take a nap now and wake up after 4 hours and support BD. They are going to score 450 and avoid follow-on

If we have so much passion why do not we put some effort int o it to improve our play...

This is a young team so I will cut them some slack....
