Default BD \'A\' lost to PTCL by 8 wickets

Well, Bangladesh 'A' team played badly, and now they've lost the match by 8 wickets inside 4 days to a team that they had beaten in the one-day format only in the last match.

Rajin Saleh scored 118 runs, BD 'A' were all out for 339 runs, and PTCL scored reached the target of 265 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Babar Naeem of PTCL scored an unbeaten century.

Thats the main problem of bd team. They can not continue their success. If they faught well in test they defeat badly or play bhua in oneday.

They should continue their success at any cost.

No wayyyyyyyyyyyy.

well this is gonna give the BD players alot of experience and im sure they'll bounce back from this. anyway babar naeem was the star player for pakistan in the emerging trophy, so its looks like hes continuing with the good form.

this sucks big time. they keep going down horribly in the last day of these games. how hard was it to prevent ptcl from scoring 265 in only a couple of sessions? and these were the best bowlers outside of rafique, tapash and masri

Well, it's sad to see BD-A lost this way. But I'm not disappointed much. One time or another, there will be win, loss, draw etc. We need to play good game first then to convert it to win. Somehow BD-A managed to stage serious comeback from behind, that shows their potential and temperament. They were still brought back to harse reality in a bang and that shows tremendous lack in coordinated plan, possibly due either to the elation of earlier good show or indisciplined hurriness. The learning curve is really steep and onwards!

We didn't go there to win the trophy although winning it would be a pleasant welcome. We went there to regain forms and confidence in the first place and we not far from these targets.

Kudos to the PTCL team in securing the victory inside two sessions. It wasn't a meager total either. It just goes to show the inept nature of bowlers in our disposal. until and unless we develop better pitches that suit seamers better ( even bounce ) in the domestic circuit, these type of results will continue. we must realize the fact that pitches conducive to seamers at home will also produce better batsmen as well ready for international competitions. It goes hand in hand. Our short comings were horribly exposed by the English short pitched bowling at home. We must take lessons and move on. there will be defeats in sports. But as long as you isolate the root problem, practice on it, victory will come. Sooner we do it, the better off we are. I hope, the brains behind the structure will realize the problems and take a long term approach rather than a quick short term fix of instant gratification.

does anyone know whether the domestic league in bangladesh is using any of the bouncy wickets similar to ones prepared for England? Just wanted to see how quick the progress was or if they need to form a sub-committee to study it further...

The Bangabandhu stadium was being used for celebrating the victory day on the 16th December, so the pitch there is most probably ruined.

Default Bangabandhu stadium

I don't know if the bounce is still there, but looks like 7 wickets were taken by Rafique and Arafat Sunny - the 2 spinners, and 4 wickets by Gazi Alamgir - a pacer.

interesting to see how good our past and present batsmen are in every innings except the 2nd Dhaka innings in the first class match:

Nafees Iqbal 2 DNP
Aftab Ahmed 2 DNP
Akram Khan 0 0 1
Rokon 0 35 87 (OK, not too bad)
Naimur Rahman DNP 1 38
Minhazul Abedin DNP 2 10
Sanwar Hossain 4 52

Young Mr. Faisal Hussain seems to be in the thick of things again. How good is he?
